This would be a nice addition. Rather than have to quit the game each time you want to switch to one of your alts, it would be handy if you could just quit to the login screen and select your other character.

I'm sure this option would be abused, many pilots now switch to another char on the same account to effectivly remove their original char from deep space where its likley to be probed when an agression counter is active.
Currently an exploit but used every day.

Just give it a 30 sec login timer, instead of the much discussed logout timer. It's kinda weird to have to leave the game if you just want to switch alts. Though CCP will have their reasons (probably stability/anti-memory-leaks/etc.) not add such a feature.

just do what every other mmo game does if u go to camp out when in danger u can't, so ok u can't stop people just pulling the connection out or quitting but at least then u could have a log out to alt option ie it only works whilst docked maybe.... no biggy i would think u could always put a dump cache information command in the logout to login part of the client i would of thought... :)
