Ok aside the fact that the original poster is just ripping off the person who originally pointed out the problems with the Khanid ships, I'll just sum up the problems with Amarr ships.
First off Khanid ships. CCP insists on clinging to the idea of split weapon systems nevermind how often it's shown not to work anywhere near as well as specialized setups. Then again we're dealing with people who never passed a high school level physics course designing a science fiction game. Proof? See the description of the passive targetter and it's acoustical sensors that somehow operate in a vaccuum. Nor did they pass a biology class as they seem to think wolves are mythical (see description of the wolf assault ship). Basiclly we're dealing with ex-UO griefers that had enough talent to launch a company and a game, but don't expect brilliance. Hell, look at the description of the new signal distortion modules, [sarcasm] real quality writing [/sarcasm].
Amarr ships in general are specialized towards using lasers. So much so that they have made it impractical for non-Amarr to use lasers without the ship bonus given to Amarr ships. This does not apply to any other weapon type. The net effect is Amarr lose a damage, range or rof bonus to lasers in favor of a cap usage bonus to make lasers usable. Mind you this requires more training on the Amarr pilots part than others. Hell, even with frigate/cruiser/battleship 5 an Amarr pilot spends more cap per shot than a hybrid user (ROF's between the two are very similiar). One could argue that the disparity is due to the range differance. However this argument does not reflect reality. Blaster boats not only have better damage bonii, but often a bonus to using MWD's. Amarr ships are crippled when trying to fit MWD's, and worse still have the worst speed and agility of other ships in their class. So you have ships that need to rely on range to have an advantage, but cannot dictate the range of encounters.
Secondary weapons. Other races have options for fitting. Amarr, not so much. There is no good reason to train missile skills as an Amarr, we don;t have any ships to really use them with. Just some half assed attempts that split the systems so badly that you'd be better off cross training to Caldari. The only thing we get is drones, but our only good drone boats are tech 2 (which means a lot of training, and an ass raping due to CCP's retarded method of distributing tech 2 BPO's).
No EWAR ships worth mentioning. Let's face it, all we have in the way of EWAR ships is tracking disruption which means little with the populatity of drone and missile boats.
Well anyways, too much ranting. I could go on, but why. I like Eve, I like CCP (despite their faults). And I have faith things will come more or less in-line. They don't do things perfect the first time, but nobody does. What keeps me optimistic is CCP also does not do broad sweeping changes (see salvaging, still needs work, but I like that they are not flip flopping between extremes).
