Galatea has been successfully deployed on August 25 during a regular downtime.
With Galatea we see an iteration on sovereignty capture mechanics, new Designer SKINs, improved visual effects of utility modules, a new Dominix model, UI improvements and more. The full details of all changes and improvements are available in the Galatea patch notes.
To report issues with the release on PC, please post in this thread.
For general discussion and feedback regarding Galatea, please use the general feedback thread. For Mac users, there is, as always, a thread on the Macintosh forums for discussion of this release here.

We are aware of the problems with patching (the launcher has problems accessing the CDN), which some of you experience, and we are working on resolving those problems.

We weren't able to release any T2 or Navy SKINs for the Raata line due to some tech issues. We are hoping to get them out at some point. Industrials will come soon. The Moa and Scorpion preview seems to be working fine.

For those who have still problems with patching (we fixed something around 13:00): You could try as workaround to download the client installer from http://community.eveonline.com/support/download/ and repair your old install with this.

Please be aware of that we are still diagnosing and working towards resolving the patching issues. Please also note that these issues are not related to today's deployment of Galatea, rather they are continued fallout from the CDN issues yesterday.
If you've already patched and the launcher is reporting that the client is ready, but then the client won't start, please contact Customer Support for assistance.
If the launcher is stuck and is not patching, please try again. We've just made a couple of changes (@ 16:59 GMT) that we are fairly confident will resolve most of the CDN caching issues.

Thanks, this is very good to know. It seems like your resource cache was corrupted. I have just seen logs in a bug report, which would also indicate a corrupted resource cache.
If anybody else experiences similar problems: Please run rescache.exe (located in the folder of your EVE client), which will verify your resource cache and repair broken files.

The downloadable installer is ~100MB. That should get you all the files you need to run the game. After that, rescache.exe can verify your resource cache and fix anything that's corrupted there if needed.
These two options together are probably better than using the repair tool. |

I don't recommend downloading the full installer. It's large, and we don't release one for every single build, so you'll have to patch it anyway (ie. if patching is the problem, you'll may run into it again). If you already have the resources, you're just redownloading them, when you could verify them with the rescache tool (~3MB for the index with checksums in the build). |

rescache.exe downloads but fails to install 13 files for me. Probably uses the Content Denial Network.

According to the screenshot it looks like you have 0 corrupt files, and are just downloading missing files. You probably don't need to do that. |

Your launcher may be out of date. Please try downloading a fresh 100 MB installer directly: http://community.eveonline.com/support/download/

I'm happy that you've managed to get past it. There haven't been service issues that they have reported, since the issue with BT earlier this week.

It's very likely that you have a file that's corrupt, and that if you've otherwise successfully patched to the latest version, then running rescache.exe should fix it. We put out a fix to rescache today (I believe) that fixed an issue which may have prevented it from repairing corrupted files. You do not need to download everything when asked.
