Most Amarr ships try to outlast their opponents. Minmatar try to take foes out fast. Maybe the Abaddon is the Amarr answer to the Minmatar threat. It breaks the mold, and mounts heavy firepower (and tank) at the cost of consuming more cap than it can hope to sustain. Afterall, if you rely upon hit and run, and high initial strike damage, such a beast could prove to be your biggest challenge. |

I stopped reading here - it barely dents the mold never mind breaking it. |

That's a shame, since it's right after those words, that I explain how it did so. |

It breaks the mold by sucking even more than other Amarr ships

The proper weapons for the Abaddon...
Nosferatu > Tech II Projectiles / Artillery > Tech II Neutron Blasters > Lasers (Recomended for microwaving that stubborn bag of popcorn).

the Abaddon is an awsome ship, so long as its used correctly. It is not a solo powne ship, it requires some logistics and support to realize its full awsomeness. pair up with a curse or guardian and then watch as you blast your way through every ship in the way.

I prefer my geddon because it is affordable. . .Tier 3 BBs are nice to a degree - but for 230mil, I think not.

As with any ship you need to have above avg skills that support the ship. i.e. Abaddon large energy turret 1/2 and battleship 3 is minimum but won't win you any fitting contests. Same goes for interceptor pilots just different forte skills. Many discussions I've had with people having problems have the minimum req'd skills or barely over it. I switched to specialized training and topping off (lvl 4's and as many lvl 5's as possible maxed out) over a year ago and haven't been happier since. The fittings are easier and effectiveness is even better. Right now I can tank very well and run lrg repper and 8 (yes 8) Tachyons for over 9 mins w/o logistic support.
Find a ship, identify its role (or unintended or unseen beneficial stats ) Work toward those strengths and build your skills to support them. I personally am very happy with the Abaddon and realize its strengths and weaknesses as well as its able diversity.
Don't let frustration get the best of you and get with a few people and "think tank". _____________________________ ... this space for rent ... |
