I'm sorta new so forgive me if I don't name things correctly.
I am Caldarian and I want to use Caldari type ships (large shields and many launcher points...
Problem is I am playing in Galleneten space, with my friends. Will I be able to get options later on from agents to get caldari type ships from any of the agents in Gal. space? Or do I have to be working for say Caldari navy?
If there are ships in Gal space for me, is there a specific corp I should look for?
Right now I'm running missions for Astral Mining.

nah will be gallente navy ships train up gal skills and maybe minmatar if u come across any serpentis frig drops

You should be working for the Caldari if you want their faction ships, however you can work for the Gallente and then trade them for the Caldari equivilents (and some isk on the side).

Actually, while you probably won't find a Caldari Navy station in Gallente space to work for Caldari Navy right there, working for a Caldari civilian corporation agent (Say, Kaalakiota) located within Gallente space is possible, and will still give you the same faction ship offers as Caldari Navy, so there's no need to move back to Caldari space.
It will also have the advantage of not driving your Caldari faction standing down, which will happen if you work for any Gallentean corporations and is probably not what you want if you want to have Caldari stuff cheap, as you might eventually be denied access to Caldari space if your standings drop too low.
Civilian corporations have stations and agents all over, I've just come back after a day of working for Creodron, which is a Gallente corp - but I've been in Amarr and Minmatar space, because that's where my best agents were. :)
