Last time I did missions there was a bug where if you released drones on certain missions, it triggered every NPC in the area to agro and attack you.
Is this bug still alive? Do drones still cause NPCs that wouldn't normally aggro in that situation to aggro to you immediately instead of waiting for their triggers?

There are some exceptions. Worlds Collide is bugged around drones. And also drones are dangerous around the towers that agro everything in the grid. Like for example on some missions if you shoot the towers everything agros. Ive found my drones are basically unusuable around those or when I do use them I work really hard to keep them off the towers. Ive also seen a situation where when I agrod a transport the entire area agrod. Drones would be dangerous around that too.
But for the most part I havent noticed the old "my drones picked new things to agro for me"

There never was such a bug. The mere act of releasing drones would not cause agro. (Don't believe me - Try using repair drones on a friends' ship in a buggy-agro-bugged mission. You'll be 100% safe.)
What WOULD (and still does) cause agro is that in some missions, any entity other than the mission owner who attacks mission rats will get full-stage agro on them. It's been called the drone agro bug because *usually* that other entity is a drone, but it also applies to any other players who attack the rats. In the case of drones, as soon as the drone in question gets wasted or scooped to dronebay, agro transfers to the drone owner.
In short, it isn't drone specific, and is only triggered by hostile activities against mission rats, not by mere presence of entities (players or drones) other than the mission holder. ------------ Ezra Cornell pe0n, Calista Industries |

just releasing drones in AE4 or WC4 first stage will aggro anything. You don't have to attack with them, it's enougn if they orbit your ship. True, I have not tested it with logistic drones, but it's like that with combat drones!

Edited by: Topodo on 13/12/2006 08:41:41 Angel Extra stage 1 and World's Collide stage 1 used to agro drones. In Right Hand of Zazzmatazz, releasing drones also brought the Lookouts into the fight.
I don't know if that's still that case, but I was in World's Collide just today and cleared out the Serpentis guard force. I released drones, waiting for the Guristas to come after them, but they never did (they were 125km away after all, but that never stopped them before).
So, maybe something has changed. But I'm not exactly in a rush to test that theory.

Some missions have dedicated anti-drone ships or grops. You launch drone and they will go for them, tagging all their friends on their way to the drone. Once you scoop the drone up, you'll be their target. --*=*=*--
The cause for this is not yet known, but we do have a possible fix in testing. by Sharkbait | 2006.09.20 |

Edited by: Venkul Mul on 13/12/2006 10:05:28 The bug with drones switching target is still there (at least 2 days ago).
Lost a Domi because some drone decide that the last Angel in room 2, at 5000 meters wasn't interesting, and assaulted some paceful Shansha at 15.000 meters.

Did not have drone aggro on WC4 (Serp/Gurista one). Already used my drones on the Battleships there and no aggro at all. BUT, if they attack on 2x Angel Spies there, you are toast. Just control them with big caution.
AE4 - pocket 1 YES, there is still this bug. Probably also on Enemies Abound 1/5 but I don't know how it is after Revelations, because I've stopped this mission due to my horrible Gallente standing
