There's something that's been bugging me about Eve since I started playing on day one. I've just realised what it is.
The game is very "dry". Now I'm not saying this makes the game rubbish. In fact it enhances the experience in a lot of ways. For starters it's the most adult MMORPG on the market, there's no kiddie elements in the background and no pseudo-magical game play to ruin the technology driven feel of the game.
What I mean by dry is there's nothing outside ships, modules and trade goods to add that extra feeling of being in the living / breathing galaxy CCP are trying to achieve.
Here's a few examples (off the top of my head) of things that CCP could add to add some extra spice.
1. The Amarrian Holy Book. Being religious and all that. It might give bonuses to attributes or skills or penalties if lost.
2. Nutritional supplements to add to your tube feed while in your pod. Again could give bonuses to attributes or skills.
3. Pets. Something a bit flippant that wouldn't have any value in the game but would just be fun to have.
I guess number three sums up what I'm trying to say. How about putting in some slightly flippant, atmosphere building stuff that could possibly aid roleplaying.
I had a Matari character who used to constantly play with his worry beads to aid battle meditation. Wouldn't it be great if he actually had some worry beads that he could lose.
What do you guys think?

Yes, it would be cool if very psersonal items could be traded and crafted. Like jewelry, gems etc.

the pets would be great...
Every now and then the little chihuahua would peek it's head from the interface, lick the screen maybe or you could just hear the doggy run around the ship, barking at cows in the cargobay and chasing drones.
Also this could be fun:
[System Failure: Warpdrive disabled]
In other words, dog chew the electronics. 
I mentioned the trinkets on charpics allready, would be fun to modify your outlook every now and then while in long hauling trips.
