I had the wierdest thing happen to me while I was playing last night.
I booted up my client logged in with my alt and started running some missions. I then remembered I had a ship that needed moving on my main (this char), so I booted up another client and logged in and set autopilot.
A minute later, both clients lost connection and couldn't reconnect and I coldn't connect to the eve-website at all, no pings nothing... but I could use the rest of the internet just fine, IRC still connected, still connected to vent and no one else experiencing the same problem. DNS working fine.
So I wait a couple mins, try refrech the eve-o web page... nothing... repeat a couple mins later, same thing. So I went to watch TV.
Came back about 30mins later, found I could connect, so I logged in my alt and finished my mission, then started another one. I decided that since everything seemed to be alright, I'd log in my main again, which I did and set him to autopilot.
About 2 mins later, I loose connection on both clients and the eve-o web again again. Same story again.
This happened to me 4 times through the evening. No connection to eve, no connection to eve-o, everything else works fine. It also seemed to only happen when I opened the 2nd client, which made everything go wonky.
I'll try again and run the log server, see what happens, but I was wondering if anything else has had something like this happen to them?

i think i read somewhere (think rev update)that you can run two clients of eve on your computer -but their will be client problems, plus cant log into the same account with two clients/but two accounts would be fine.

yep its always been that way (iirc) you can only run one char on a single account at any given time, 2 accounts is ok, the only funny thing here is usually if you do fire up another char on the same account the first one you had open usually crashes instantly, maybe something changed last patch ?

Edited by: Optical Nous on 13/12/2006 13:24:01 I only run one EVE client and last night got booted. Tranquility status 'unknown' for about 15-20 minutes, no tracerts to www.eve-online.com, no pings, nothing. I tried logging back in 20 minutes later when the website reappeared and got stuck in a 195 player queue that took another 20 minutes just to get logged in. This happened 3 times over a two hour priod and completely borked the mission I was running at the time.
Must have been one of the UK nodes crashing again and again. My mate lives 6 miles away from me and had no problems whatsoever.

Level3 had massive problems yesterday in the internet backbone area in London, especially on those hops leading to TQ. --*=*=*--

Probably an internet problem, I always have 2 accounts running and haven't noticed any problems related to the running of 2 clients. ----------

That would be it then, seeing as teh rest of my internet was fine and just eve was broken... and i'm in london.
To everyone else, I was running 2 accounts and 2 clients, I've been doing this long enough to know you can run 2 chars on the same account at the same time.

If I accidently log in an account that's already online, the client closes immediately for me. --*=*=*--
