Pre-Revelations this assembly array had a 0.9 material need multiplier for module production. Post-Revelations this has been changed to 1.0 and has effectively nerfed any profit margin in the t1 module production market. That combined with the fact that these arrays are sold for 450m from npc's... I just don't understand the reasoning behind it.
Anyone have any ideas?
edit: Feel free to point me to another thread if this has been discussed somewhere else.

the reason was simple, if something took 1000 zydrine to build with the array built it with 900, great right? Wrong. When this is done you could reprosses the unit with 100% reprossing to get 1000zydrine. 100zydrine appeared from no where. Zydrine is about 4000ISK so 400,000ISK appeared from no where. On small scale no problem. In mass production and on larger scale it would of became a massive issue.

Also, I believe this was nerfed quite a while before Revelations was released.

*sigh*, another piece of baseless misinformation. Even with perfect building skills, the empire stations still produce waste (Material factor 1.0). This is why any blue print on the item database shows LESS minerals than the ones in game. When you it calculates your qoute you see what actually goes into your product and what is waste, the SUM of the two are equal at an empire station is equal to what you see on the BPO. Now when you recycle, you NEVER get the waste portion back, only the primary. The efficient assembly array, when it offered 0.9 efficiency, was not manufacturing items for less minerals they would recycle too. It just meant that the additional waste portion over and above what is in the item database was less. Lots of people have run around saying this was done to stop a bug or loophole, this is not the case, there is no bug. I really wish I knew why they nerfed it, and also WHY DOES NOT MATERIAL/TIME FACTORS SHOW UP IN THE ITEM'S "SHOW INFO" WINDOW BEFORE YOU BUY IT??????? WHY DO YOU HAVE TO BUY & ANCHOR IT TO FIND OUT??
Sorry, the latter issue really ****es me off...

...you can have mastered building skills but on a 'raw' blueprint you will still be at 1.0% waste me10 turns that to 0.1% waste and me20 turns the waste to 0.01%. The website shows a 'Perfect' blueprint meaning a toped out researched bp with top skills..

This was nerfed back in one of the RMR post-patches because it was useless; the .9 multiplier was on waste only. Nothing has been nerfed for Revs. ---- AUS Corp Lead Megalomanic |

at first it was going to be a total .9 but in test that made materials in some cases, the easiest in s ammo. But when they chaged it to .9 waste, it almost changed nothing for bpos with more then 10-20 me research.
