"Can't salvage" as in it won't let you, or can't salvage as in it fails and eventually you get nothing?
I've "salvaged" a faction wreck w/ lvl 3 Salvaging, but it took me forever and I didn't get anything for my trouble.

I'm pretty sure the message was something like " You are not capable of salvaging this wreck" Its possible i was only lvl 2 at the time, but even at lvl 3 i still get same message on a tech 2 wreck

You need salvaging to lvl 4 to do this.
Had the same problem and my corpmate with lvl4 could salvage the t2 wreck, but i couldnt at lvl 3

did the tech 2 wreck provide salvage that was more advanced? (I.E. may be needed for tech 2 rigs?) or was it just the same junk as normal ship salvage.

The salvage from T2 ships is the 'non-broken' salvage parts required for T2 rigs e.g. Micro Circuit and Power Circuit (as opposed to Charred Micro Circuit and Tripped Power Circuit). |

Salvage seems to be working much better that at first, are more categories of rats producing salavge? or is it still just the 10 basic rat types as at first?
Another thing, does increased level of salvaging, actually mean you have a better chance of salvaging (i.e., more stuff salvaged) or does it only affect the chance of successfully using the module (i.e., fewer attempts to get results even if nothing is salvaged)?
Just wondering if a salvage tackle only saves a bit of time, or if it increases the chance of getting salvage?

AFAIK, Metal Scraps are the only salvage items you get off wrecks in COSMOS areas....

I believe the components are determined when the wreck is spawned, so all the chance improves is overall speed.
Not that it will stop me from installing a Salvage Tackle though...
