8 new ships just came out with the new patch.
More specifically, 8 new VERY USEFULL ships just came out.
Even more specifically, 8 new very usefull ships that everyone has instant acces to, just came out!
Which means that everyone and their uncle who had a mineral stock and a wad of isk sitting in the bank bought a bpo, started pumping out drakes/rohks/etc and making a killing. And the demand is HIGH because lots of people want these ships. Not just because they are good, but also because of the novelty value.
The minerals that previously created a balance between supply of ships and the destruction of said ship has basically been put into overdrive to keep supplying hungry factories pumping out ships. Less minerals mean speople start paying higher to secure their share of them. So the prices go up.
Should even out again after some time though. Ie, when everyone who wanted one of the new ships has them. They can only fly one at a time so once everyone has the new ship gathering dust in a hanger or whatever, things will go back to 'normal'.

Ahhh the days of 3 isk trit. It's back.
Still not quite sure zydrine is falling though. Other than maybe a lot of players saving it thinking it was going to rise after the patch.

lots of carebearing _before_ the patch aswell - especially the 0.0 guys... shoud've seen the plain turnover money directly after the patch; although i didn't hop onto any of the new stuff, the people just had to spend LOTS of stashed cash

Probably a combination of these reasons.
A) The first installment of Kali isn't a miner friendly patch and all the toys from it went to PvPers, Salvagers and others. Why mine when all of the good stuff from the patch doesn't effect Mining at all except for the profits from higher ore prices of course.
B) Like many touched upon, the new ships are in high demand and they require these ores which no one is mining becausde they want to play with the stuff from the patch instead of mine. It is a Catch-22
C) If they did ban Macro miners, yeah that would have an effect as well.

Originally by: Montaire Its lows that are going up. And I think its probably a long term change.
CCP banned somthing like 120 macro / bot accounts about a week and a half ago. What you are noticing is a large number of macro'ers that are no longer mining. Literally about 200 barges are not working 23/7 anymore.
