smiity T	Posted - 2006.12.18 02:39:00 - [1] ok im 9 days away from amarr frig lvl V, and i am still wonderin what ship to buy when i get it? here's a few questions i would like to have answered if you all would have the time to answer them 1. Are they good for runnin SOME of lvl 3 missions. 2. Which one is better for solo/small gang pvp 3. please dont tell me to go with any other race because i like amarr and will plan on staying that way.( that's not a question, that's a response ) 1. Any good setups IF you have the time to post them thanks if you choose to answer these for me, also im fairly new but almost 3m sp, i'm already usin t2 stuff for small and most of meds( no t2 lasers tho for cruiser sized ships)

Ret: 4x Med Pulse t2 1x Cap Recharger 1x Small armor rep t2, 1x named thermic plate, 3x Heatsink t2 I only use it in gangs, where the hitting power and variable range can kill just about any frigate that gets into range of my guns. Other people prefer a heavier tank, or some speed. I just use it like a sledgehammer, no finesse, just lock, blast, it explodes, lock, blast, explode, and so on. ex-Occassus Republica <3

Scorpians	Posted - 2006.12.18 03:45:00 - [5] ok im also an amar pilot and i use assalt frigs alot and i use both retri and vengence depending on situation retri is better but limited n pvp due to the 1 med slot. iv took a cara down in one b4 and almost a navy cara. but for missions the retri can do most lvl 3s i use it alot if u have the right setup veng is good pvp also. tho limited vs crusers. as for setups i dont rely have a set setup i fit my ships depening on what i feel the situation will be. and change acroding le. hope this helps. also sticc to assalt ship imo. i usta be a dedicated geddon flyer. and now i mainly use hac. my motto is " once youve had hac youl never go back" sorry for my speling its late lol. Pre rev it could kill Sansha and Blood battleships ive no idea now though ive heard that raiseing its capacitor but also recharge rate nerfed it a little but ive no idea if its true as for other factions ive killed upto 1.2mill Guristas and Angels with a Retri but the problem with higher ones is there EM resists. It's great being Amarr, aint it? --------------------------------

Another nice thing is, that when you set up and omni-tank to rat with, youre basically pvp fitted, cos theres not much you can change. Im told this setup is good: Highs: 4 x Dual Light Pulse Lasers II 1 x E5 Prototype Energy Vampire Meds: 1 x 1MN Afterburner II Lows: 1 x Small Armor Repairer II 1 x Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II 1 x Armor Thermic Hardener II (if your armor compensation skills are very high/maxed, you might want to substitute an Energized Thermic Membrane II, as it might give you a very similar result with no cap-use) 2 x Heat Sink II i am told this fits with some levels in Advanced Weapon Upgrade and the standard fitting skills. Deals good damage while maintaining a good omni-tank. If you cant use the t2 yet, just switch it out with good named versions, its what i do. Good luck and enjoy your Retribution. Beware: Sig Ahead! Also ratted Sansha BSs succesfully. It takes awhile to take down any BS, like it would with any other AF, but as long as you keep transversal velocity up and kill the rats in this order (frigate/cruiser/BS) you will never loose your ship. You don't need to tank with armor repair much because frigates go down fast and you can tank cruisers and BSs with speed. As for low sec, it's a walk in the park, may as well hunt in a crusader which is much more fun. Retribution "Ballz made of steel" setup for 0.0 ratting by weedmasta (never lost it to ratting): 4x medium pulse IIs 1x AB II or MWD (not sure if mwd fits, dont remember anymore, even if it does it can give u cap problems) 1x SAR II, 2x Heat Sink II, 2x Inertia stabs (nanofibers before Rev.) or 1x SAR II, 3x True Sansha/Dark Blood Heat Sink, 1x Intertia stab (faction Heat sinks because there is no way to fit 3 heat sinks otherwise without sacrificing AB or having to fit smaller turrets, both of which will tremendously effect the time it takes for you to take down a BS spawn)

Maybe you'll come upon some who dont know anything about the retribution.

Trac3rt GoonFleet GoonSwarm	Posted - 2006.12.18 22:33:00 - [25] I have successfully rat Serpentis (up to Dual 1.2Mil spawns) and Blood Raiders in 0.0 in a Retribution. As long as you can transverse tank and kill frigs/destroyers quickly you are fine. The Retri is also a solid ship for PvP since it has higher DPS than most T1 cruisers. Its a lot harder to fly solo, but with a scram in the midslot you get plenty of kills from people who try and 'have a go' thinking they will be able to warp out. I have also had solo kills without a scram as inties try to hold me down (and fail) while support jumps in from the next system over. It also makes a good mining escort, since inties won't be able to get close enough to tackle the miners while they try and warp out. ___

I adore this build as well... no one ever showed it to me, it is just such a natural build for the retri... take everything you learned about amarr and try to implement it... except with the godly retri your range on pulses is huge (16km with scorch), your tank only requires minor patching (thermic plate) and you can still fit 3 HS2s... gorgeous setup, you simply can't get better bang for your buck Albert Anastacia> Like they say, adapt or die. I adapted and now I get to Iwinbutton all over everyones face.
