In just three years (and a couple months now) the New Order has grown from a single man, bumping miners to one of the most killing-est alliances in the game, now routinely destroying trillions of ISK each month in carebear assets on occasion surpassing all other alliances in the game. Truly the ascent of the New Order is an epic tale for the ages, and may well be the very thing that carries Eve through this period of transition and into a new golden age of expansion.
It is possible that in the far future, the Eve player base and the staff at CCP will look back and raise a glass to James 315 and the New Order for holding fast against the emasculation of their PvP game and staying true to the original vision of Eve and keeping the game alive during one of its darker times. It is through our heroic efforts that conflict is generated to oppose the encroaching boredom, and the very real dangers of an overly safe and lucrative highsec for a sandbox game are kept at bay. In fact, without the New Order would anything interesting actually happen in modern highec?
Let's hope CCP uses the respite the New Order has given them to make the changes necessary to restore balance to the PvP sandbox that is New Eden.
Happy Code Day! |

Now, now, Dracvlad.
"Every player who has joined EVE for the purpose of enforcing the Code; every player who heard about EVE because of us, and every player who biomassed and quit the game for the [very] same reason. Every news article or forum post or SoundCloud recording or YouTube video or conversation in local that has been centered on the Code.
Every player who stopped doing whatever it was that he was doing before he became an Agent. Every miner who gave up mining, every nullsec player who rolled a highsec gank alt. Every industrial corp that suffered an awox or a corp theft or was forced to dissolve, every alliance that suffered a wardec, every miner and freighter who didn't know what bumping was until his ship went careening off into space.
Every carebear who received a crash course in the exotic mechanics of aggression and duels and can-flipping and salvage-stealing and remote-repping. Everyone who learned about scamming and isk-doubling and corp roles. Every post, every view, every comment on MinerBumping and all of the Agent blogs and rebel blogs that spun off from it. Everyone who tried to gank for the first time, or who organized into an Anti-Ganker fleet, and every skill trained for ganking or anti-ganking.
Everyone who cried to CCP and begged them for nerfs; every nerf proposal that has been analyzed, discussed, tested, accepted, and rejected.
Everyone who remained at their keyboard, or checked for reds in local, or swapped out yield in favor of tank, or traded in their Hulk in favor of a Skiff, or put bulkheads on their freighter, or limited their cargo value, or brought an escort, or a web alt, or scouted out a gate, or viewed an intel channel, or checked a killboard for activity; everyone who took an alternate route or traveled at an alternate time, or mined or ran missions in a more remote location."
All of that came from The Code, from James 315. But we New Order Agents are charitable folk; perhaps our definition of 'fail' differs from yours!

To be fair, on the CODE website, they do make sweeping and grandiose claims that all freighters and miners and whatnot in highsec are operating illegally (and are thus subject to termination if they don't have a permit), so it's not unreasonable to assume that they'd go after ALL of them

Sorry to derail my own thread Saeger, but what is that on your head?
Pray guide us through the thought processes which beset you as you crafted your EVE Online character.
As an extra challenge - and to keep the thread on topic - please relate those processes to the position you have but recently taken vis a vis our glorious organisation; The New Order Of Highsec.

Lets repeat it so you can understand the point which was made by another poster.
Which is not the moving of goalposts, but the measure of success or failure as hard cold logic in CODE's own words on their website and in their definition of anyone without a permit as a criminal, which is why every time I go past one of their concentrations I remind them in local that they have failed again...

Fizzy apple juice is not cider, real cider comes in earthenware flagons, often contains meat and is strained through the teeth.

Speaking of pants on heads, how was the break up of BL for you, did you buy that Blockade Runner? I had a mental impression of hordes of BL pilots arriving in Jita, buying what they needed then undocking and getting instra locked and blasted by massed ranks of gankers, was kinda funny.
But if pointing out that CODE is failing based on their stated objective is pants on heads, better ask James315 about those pants on his head

What blockade runner?
I left BL about a week before whatever happened to them happened. RL changes to my eve schedule prevented me from staying, since you care about my corp status. Great bunch of guys, and let me assure you that whatever happened to them, they still did more in EVE than you ever have.
Your arguments don't even make sense. It's like saying the allies lost WW2 because they didn't win the whole thing in one fight.
