It's good if you are not frustrated by lag, that is.
Way to win is clear cool thinking, and not to be blinded by excitement.
But it's definitely not as fun as the late lamented Allegiance, which still tops my list of the most intense space battles ever. Me ridding shotgun in a turret on a cruiser with three other players, surrounded by escorting player flown scouts (used to heal the cruiser) and fighters, breaking out of a wormhole for a deathride against an enemy base, surrounded by player flown fighters and interceptors desperate to defend their base to the end. Alas the attack failed---the base still had a few notches of life before your cruiser blows up, leaving four pods in space. But heck I got two or three interceptors with my turret guns.
Or, after evading patrols and the radar screen by hiding in the asteroids in your stealth bomber, your BIOS Steath Bomber come out and decloaked for a death run against an enemy base. The channels go crazy as your opponents called for fighters and interceptors, and fighter after fighter comes out of the base. They're pounding you now, your armor is getting thin, but you're trying to close the distance to get within range before you can unload your torpedoes against the enemy base. The salvo blows up the base, just as a second later, you are podded. Then some gripey player decides to give you some extra punishment for your deed, and blows up your pod. But the death was worth it, and the channel was filled with congratulations from your team members.
Those were the days...
Nothing beats a highly cooperative team based game for sheer intensity. The longest battles I've played ran for 3 to 4 hours and at the end of the game, my hand was trembling at a sweaty joystick.
