My subscription renewal failed on my other account yesterday.
"reason: Credit card issuer rejected card on renewal"
I used the same card for 2 years on auto-renewal with no problems. I bought a time card and extended the subscription (with the same credit card btw). Didn't have time for petitions, but CCP should know that's something is wrong and really look into this.

Same thing happened to me as well. I called up my credit card company and the response they gave me was that they had too many fraudulent charges from overseas accounts and that they no longer honor them.

Funny when it happened to me, I was told CCP never submitted a charge for that month. So I guess it depends on the bank.

I reactivated an old account last week, and it failed with me too the first time. But then I added all the data in non-capital letters. ie. no capital letter in main name and last nate, or street names et. just all small letter. that helped with me and the transaction went tru easily enough.

Can't find the thread, but there were a few posts a while ago, about problems with CCP's billing partner and Kieron confirmed it, so I assumed that it that was the same problem. Haven't checked with my bank, but the card as I said works normally in transactions in Paypal and other online stores in U.S. and Europe (card is Visa issued in Europe).

Seems semi-randomish.
Had received my new credit card, and tried to update the other with the details -> persistent failures regardless of multiple attempts. So off I go to the dreaded GTC market.
Couple days ago my second account expires too; this absolutely no problems with the same card.

right guys l had this problem also, was unable to sort out CC problem, however GM Zworm pointed me in the direction of https://secure.eve-online.com/etc.asp
sorted my problem out a treat and no need for cc's can use a normal debit card ( i'm from the uk so ideal ) with paypal, very straigh forward and easy process.

As of a recent patch (Revelations or one of the subsequent bug patches), skills will not train if the account is suspended.

I too have been given this advice after much emails from CCP who seem unable to resolve this issue. I have a real life friend who reported the same issue so this is definately a CCP problem.
I contacted my bank who confirmed they are not rejecting any transactions.
The GM I am dealing with asked me to use a visa card from a recognised vendor. My vendor is the largest vendor in the UK I have tried 3 different cards, all with the same thing.
In addition, I have 3 accounts, 2 of which are running on the rejected card without problem
THIS IS A CCP ISSUE, not a bank issue and buying time cards are more expensive than the normal subscription.
I cant see why there is a problem. CCP takes visa, I have visa... So????

The ones I've seen are $17.99 for 30 days. Compair that to the $14.99 CCP charge it isnt cheaper unless you've found one I've not seen?

I also had the same problem. Error code 0069.
I use a Visa Debt card.
Back at the begining of November I had just been reissued a new Visa Debt to replace my old one when my subscription was due. I tried to use my new card but I got the same error message. (0069) Thinking not much of it, I decided to try my old card, which was due to expire and that card worked fine.
When it came to my next subscription renewal in the middle of December, I tried to use my new card. (my old one had expired in November and been cut up) Again I got the 0069 error.
I decided to visit my local bank to find out why. They could find no problem with my account and suggested I contact CCP and ask them to take alook at my details on their end. They also suggested that sometimes when you get issued a new card, because the number you use down the middle strip changes, sometimes companys will reject your card and flag it. Possibly to stop fraud. This is done automatically.
I connacted CCP and my first response was along the lines, Debt cards, Electron and Maestro do not work with Eve online, we only accept credit cards.
I went back into my bank and had them look up my details again. No issues found.
I told them I have had no problems using my Visa Debt card for the last 2, 3 years. If you check my billing you will see you have charged my account before. If it was the case that you do not accept Debt cards then how is it possible your system would accept my card before and have had no problems charging it over the last few years?
I then decided to use my parents Visa Debt, to check I wasnt going crazy and funny enough..IT WORKED! I then tried to use mine on an alt account and surprise..It didnt.
After numerous messages on my petitions over the week with the GMS, One GM said he had changed the flag on my account and asked me to try again. This time my Visa Debt worked. But it would still not work on my alt account. :/
With one fixed I then asked to have the other account sorted but my petitions felt like they where going around in a circle.
By this time I got fed up.I decided instead of trying to use my Visa Debt, I would instead have to use my parents Visa Debt.
This seems to be a serious problem from CCPS end.

Anonshi, thanks for that useful post. It seems no one is willing to take responsibility for this issue which is odd considering CCP must be losing subscriptions over this.
I for one have no other cards, I have 4 visa debit cards and NONE of them work. As said preciously, the ironic thing is, 2 of my active accounts are running on one of the cards that is being rejected by CCP. My bank, like yours has said there is nothing wrong at their end and they will gladly accept online transactions on all my cards. Over Christmas I have used these cards extensively without an issue.
So at the moment I have to make a decision.
1. Do I wait in hope that CCP will take this seriously and do something about it?
2. Do I pay for a more expensive game card for 'less' playtime than the official subscription
3. Do I simply let my walk away and go play somehting else?
Well I have to say so far the GM I'm dealing with has been helpful in that they seem to be looking into the problem. Its not often you get companies dragging their heels when it comes to subs
I'll go with option 1 for the moment.

I've got a mate who is having the same problem. He only has one credit card, paypal isn't really and option and he isn't willing to spend extra money on the GTC because it messses the billing system up.

Same problem here thus I can't login under my main account to post.
This is the 6th time in the past 3 months I have had my card rejected, they even billed me twice in one month once. I am astounded this is still an issue. I just hope my skill *is* really training, I can't login to 'My Character' to see.
I don't know what to say, crashes, lag, can't sub, over-billed, and to top it off, no xmas pressie. Meh!

And time-code buying isn't an option since my country is not listed in Paypal..

Got reply on my petition. Though I cant quote it here I guess nothing prevents me to express what kind of feeling I got from it...
"We dont really know whats the problem and were not taking any action to investigate, your money is not important to us"
No wonder I got reply so fast, it lookt like textbook reply. GM totally igonered the fact that my card has been ok past 1 year+ and managed to not answer any of my questions

I am the friend Meccina talked about. I did got also textbook answer on my petition but continued writing in it and finally a GM responded that they are contacting their billing partners on this matter, but I should try to find a other way to pay my account now. I did with a friend's VISA Electron (same card that I got rejected) so it was obvious to me that problem is in CCP's banning some cards or something.. Anyway I hope this will be solved before my subscription runs out again.

There are many player who are paying with visa electron for the last year, now after they cant pay eve with the card many of them have big problems to reactivate this account!!!! It will be good when you "CCP" renew the VISA ELECTRON payments for our player so they can have much fun on EVE-ONLINE again!
I hope you will understand that this problem might be small for you but is big for other!

Yeah I've had a LOT of credit card problems recently with CCP. It's a lengthy story, but the funny part is the CC company wanted to know who I had tried to resolve the problem with here. I had the tell them "GM XXXXX". They were like "Huh? What is the name of the person in billing you dealth with please?" Again I had to say "GM XXXXXX". I explained the situation. They thought it incredible, amazing. "There is no person you can speak to or write about your credit card problem? No billing department?" And again I explained all I can do is "email" (didn't want to try and explain petitions) someone who is named Gm this or Gm that, and you have no idea who you are talking with.
What is up with that? Can't CCP have a regular billing department like every other VISA, Mastercard, etc vendor in the world? Every other business I've ever dealth with not only did you have a billing dept. you could contact if you had a problem, but the people there actually had names. |

To all those people who are having trouble with the card verification. Update the info (the veri number and exp date etc) then Delete your CC number and re-enter it . Was as simple as that or me.

I also have that problem with an alt.
Really great, because normally the chars on my 2 accounts split the work. And since one is gone for the moment the other is shafted too becuase of resources which are in posession of characters in the suspended account.

Technically, since you didn't pay them, you really shouldn't get any reimbursement. But I understand the frustration.
I just switched over to another card and it worked fine. I'm sure if you just re-enter your info, there shouldn't be a problem. --- "Dear CCP,

I cancelled all 3 of my account¦s cause i have had this problem with 1 of my acco¦s for a week now. Made an petition but still no answer from CCP! I am not giving my money for an gamecompany that has this kind of customer service!! There is games that work better than EVE and also has deasent service.
Played gave since 2003. Good buy EVE!!

Having the same problem with my credit card.... I tried to renew an old account but i get an error message. There are funds on the card and also I used it just the other day in another internet transaction.
There is something wrong in CCP's end.. and it really ought to get fixed asap.

not solved. I had to buy a code because I couldnt use the visa Im already using to pay for my main account, to resub my alt account. - Both accounts are over 18 months old btw, so its not only a problem for ppl trying to upgrade trial accounts. The not authorized error is basically just letting us know that the page and account service has problems, and to please either spam your info for 2 hours releasing and renewing your IP in case youre paranoid and you might see results, or - if youre still sane - pay by other means. Weird issue. And very annoying, Im just glad the code service which I had never used before was so swift.
