I can't get corp titles to show up on my members. I've heard other new corp CEO's mentioning similar issues. Is this a bug, or am I just misunderstanding something?
Here's what I've been able to figure out, I'm just not sure what to make of it. Corp titles are connected linearly, instead of being independent of each other. I can assign Title A to a member, but I cannot assign Title B to another member without assigning Title A to that same member. In short, Title B, C, etc, won't show up on a "show info" unless Title A (and everything in between) is also present.

Curious about this too, since all titles were showing previously and now they are not. Went back to take a look and see why that was, but have not been able to figure it out.

do you need to give titles to assign them roles? or do you just want titles to sound good? :)
if its for the second option you can right click a member, select "edit member" and there is a titles box where you can type in anything you like.
i use it as it is far easier to manage rather than changing title a, b etc etc

Pre-revelations, you could use a set of titles, which would also have their specific set of roles.
That made things A LOT easier. As a title would imply a certain function in a corporation.
Having to type the title for 150-300 members is a bit of a nuisance, wouldn't you say?
With the old method, you would just click the rank, and the title would be assigned automatically.
A much metter method.

Roles seem to work fine. (Although I'm still learning what they're all supposed to do.) It's just titles that are broken. For the time being I'll try your solution, as part of the purpose of titles is to feel important.

I confirm this. Most annoying. At least the rights assigned to the "invisible" titles work as they should. Better than nothing I guess.

This is indeed very annoying for corporations that have a certain structure in place for their members. Pre-Revelations you would edit the member, assign them a title (connected to certain roles and hangar access) and it would show up in the members info. Unfortunately this is not working anymore, is it supposed to be this way or is it just a bug? -----

post revelations none of my corp titles are displaying correctly. I've tried resetting them all but to no avail. The OP isn't asing for help setting them up, it's a bug. I have petitioned, but atm petitions seem to take longer than a snail moseing over to the moon.

Edited by: Aurael Drakewing on 23/01/2007 05:52:02 Has there been any kind of answer to this, and is anyone else still having issues with corp titles? I don't see it listed on the known issues, and it's a rather annoying bug. I'm just starting out with corp management, but it would be a very big hassle and time sink to manually configure everyone's title via the custom title options....

although they may not show up on show info, they still work, go through edit/view member, and look at the role summary tab, it will show there access if its set by title.
Im actually glad titles aren't being displayed to everyone now, just with they would be displayed to corp members in show info. Do not really want non-corp members to see titles like "POS manager" on a member.

I found it lovely that you can now assign various sets of roles grouped under a title and not have it showup as: "Title 1, Title 2, Title 3, Title 4 etc"
Much neater and by setting a title on the member, any special function member=voila! Diplomat(tm) Gods Finger(extended)
and so on ^_^

Aye, the role assignment by title does work fine. But I've setup special titles for our outside contacts (specifically political and recruitment officers) that I *want* non-corpmembers to see, so that they know who to contact. While I can get one to work by setting it to the first entry in the titles list, I won't assign a member both of these special titles at the same time...that's just too much bull for one person to deal with :P I don't have titles like POS manager because of the same reason you're thinking, it doesn't take that much effort to be creative and come up with a different title than POS manager while still having that role......
It's also helpful to have the titles show when you have a rank structure in your corp and you then join an alliance, because AFAIK they can't do an edit/view member on someone in a different corp

Yeah, bugged for me, too. Either using the corp button, or right-click editing a member and assigning a title there, either way the title doesn't show up in the player's info.

I have one of my titles working..."Recruit"
My other titles going up the security ladder are not displaying at all. This is frustrating as you have no idea at a glance who has access to what, or what division they are in. I have bug reported this as well.

The title stuff just got better. You can edit it by hand in the edit member option. Just fill in whatever title you want, regardless of assigned roles by titles. I like it this way. If I assign someone as a miner I can still give him the title Rock Hugger.

You will have much better chance of this bug (if it is one) getting fixed if you file a bug report. So please do that, and include a link to this thread.
