A Retriever with 2 Strip Miners and 5 Mining I drones. Or Hyperion with 8x Miner II's and 5 Mining I drones... which is the better/faster for mining?

Pfff.. clearly the Apoc or Abbadon is the better mining ship. It also looks better when the sun reflects on the golden hull.

what happened to the good old times when everyone trained amarr just for the Apoc (was the only ship that could handle all those mining lasers)

Ya, well, the days of training for the Apoc miner ended with all the specialized mining ships, now it looks like the Rokh will bring us back to another BS mining boat age.

you'll ahve to do with nos or smartbombs, and a 1mn mwd(200m/s 4tw)

Barges don't have turrets no. And you can fit one with an MWD ;)
Was hoping for a sensible post earlier with the workings out of the yields per strip miner /sec compared with the yields of the miner ii's plus skills etc.

45000 + 9720 = 54720 Ore Units / Hour
Retriever
Strip Miner I
540 * 1.25 * 1.25 * 1.12 (Mining Barge IV) * 2 * 20 = 37800
+
Mining Drone I (Assuming Mining Drone Op IV + Drone Interfacing IV)
15 * 1.8 * 1.2 * 5 * 60 = 9720
37800 + 9720 = 47520 Ore Units / Hour

5 * 1.0 = 1.05
5 * .87 = 1.0435
5 * .57 = 1.0285
