Can someone point me to a guide on how to use these things? I can't find anything is the search.

Anchor it and experiment.
That's all you're getting out of me for being in that alliance. ----------------------------

Anchor them in 0.0. Stuff can't warp.
If they leave warp on a vector that intersects with the bubble, they'll end up on the edge, and may drift in.

Edited by: Bulletproof Cupid on 20/12/2006 19:15:24 Edited by: Bulletproof Cupid on 20/12/2006 19:14:41 You launch them in space and then anchor them, when the "bubble" efffect shows in space it means they are anchored and working.
For small mobile disruptors if you are trying to catch people warping TO the gate you are at you need to place the bubble about 25km behind the gate alligned perfectly with the gate you are at and the gate where you are trying to catch people coming from.
When you have it possitioned correctly the center of the bubble and the 2 gate icons should almost overlap in space. ------------- Lost Without a Clue |

There are different sized bubbles that are used in different ways. I've only used the mediums. Essentially you anchor them about 10km away from a gate. You will need six (four around, one top, one bottom) to fully cover a gate. CCP (for some reason) has doubled the anchoring time so now it takes 4 min. to put them out and to pick them up.

Cool guys, thanks for the info. Can I deploy them in low sec or only in 0.0?

I've heard some folks say this, but I've never really understood it. A small has a 10K radius, correct? If you drop it 25 behind the gate its range is 20 away from where the target will hit the gate. How does it snag a target 20k away from its scramble range?

Lets just say I warped in at 100 off gate and got sucked into a bubble

Was the bubble deployed close to the gate or did they anticipate that someone would warp in at 100 and deploy it there?

After a trial run in low sec, I found that you cannot deploy them in low sec only in 0.0.

if there is a bubble in the path of which you warp in and on the grid you are warping to, you'll land on the bubble no matter if you chose warp to 0 or 100 (I hate that)
Start Point of warp ---->-------->(100km)---->(Gate 0km)---->X (Bubble)
I have never heard of the 25km behind the gate rule, but then I haven't done bubbles much... You sure land on the bubble if it's in line no matter what range you chose to warp to :(
