Some exploration bugs i have found and seeking clarification if other have run into them as well. I have tested these bugs several times as well.
These bugs found have been replicated i have tried to utline steps to replicate them to the best of my knowledge
Losing probes that are currently loaded when trying to switch types while cloaked.
Steps to replicate this are to have a couple probes in the launcher, Cloak and then try and switch type. You will get an error that you can not do that you are cloaked. But the launcher is empty and the probes that were there do not appear in your cargo. Basically several probes disappeared. You then have to manually pull the probes from your cargo to the launcher instead of right click and select from list.
Sift probes while quests are in space and trying to scan with both types at once does not work
This one is weird and it defiantly needs tested by someone else. Basically you locate a signature within .5 au with a quest probe and find the quest probe that found it and destroy that probe only to launch a sift in its place. You select all probes still in space and scan. 10 sift probes later you haven't yet found the signature and if you do you do it is several thousand kilometers off.
However if you destroy all the other quest probes and only have the sift probe out or selected it usually only takes 1-2 scans and is at most 150 km off, most of the time 0km. It appears as if the sift probes are sharing the properties of the quest probes for signal strength and error. This has only happened to me twice and is hard to replicate as i don't want to waste to much time and probes for no results when i found a work around that works.

The Sift+Snoop combination also appears to be bugged. I was hoping to combine the sift's sensor strength with the snoop's accuracy, but couldnt locate the deadspace after 15 attempts. With a Sift alone, it could be scanned rather easily (scan strength = 0.28) ------------------------ *opinions stated are not necessarily those of my corporation or alliance |

The first bug is know (think it's even listed on the known issues page).
The second is not a bug, it's how multiple probes combined work.
From my probe guide: "Signal strength is the signal strength of each individual probe added together and divided by some yet to be determined modifier. This modifier is larger for shorter range probes and is large enough so that if you combine 2 probes of very different range (5 + 20 or 20 + 40) you will actually get a result that less than if you just used the shorter range probe alone."
I have tested it mostly with ship probes so I don't know how much it's modified on exploration probes but it wouldn't surprise me if sift has a very high modifier. ---------------------------------------- A Guide to Scan Probing in Revelations |

Hoshi i agree with that assumption however I took that if the probes were in the same sphere of influence. We are talkign one sift at one end of system and the quest at the other. I think probes scan strength not inside the same sphere of influence should be treated seperatly. But i am probably wrong. Would like to hear a Devs response to this

When you lose your probes to the changing ammo when cloaked bug, decloak and hit reload, voila.
