If you look over the map in teh sticky and the map in teh game you will notice many iregularities between the two. You can not have sovereignity in a NPC region, constelation, system, but you can definitely kill all those coming through. Fountain is a half NPC region, as you can see BOB is claiming it, XELAS and the HUNS are living in there and they have a big fight with Insurgency who also say they claim the region. You seem to have more knowledge of Stain, so why not tell the op what he wants to know ? e.g. "We're corp Y, we claim north Stain, we kill whomever passes through". STAIN is a FREE FOR ALL.. evryone kills everyone and people that have lived there since CA wars know that those that want to stay in STAIN can. In short there is a butt load of people in STAIN and chances are.. someone will shoot you no matter who you friendly with.

Alot of other random abandoned systems, change hands alot, pirate corps using the systems & killing whos there, using it for awhile to make isk and moving on.. Ociasonal fighting happening, bait and gank stuff, blobs sometimes, and vaga's/gank fleets trying to catch npc'ers.. typical 0.0. but pretty hard to get a foot hold in area with allready established/supplied corps/alliances in area, who are entrenched and ready to fend off those who try to move in on their systems/area. ie. with capitals, dreads/carriers etc. so not much station camping happens to anyone... alot of ASCN/BOB travel around in stain too. To make a list of corps/alliances in stain would take too long though, since i even seen BoB peeps take over a system for a week or two... your best bet for moving to a nice quite 0.0 region would be delve tbh BL-IN site & Killboard

Difficult to police due to the npc stations but stain were generally sucessfull. Back in those days we only really had incursions by a few corps. Now I understand anyone and their mother lives down there. Perhaps someone will step up to clean it out in 2007... watch this space I say. EDITED due to xmas plonk. To answer the ops question stain is totally npc soveriegn whereas fountain is not. Go check sov on the map. So it technically cannot be claimed, but hang on that would mean rise dont control outerring or syndicate either... go find one of the other thousands of anti rise threads that discuss that little monkey. The main alliances of course that I see roaming about atm are The Sudden Death Squad and U'K. They seem to be the main pvp dudes there with an assortment of various corps to spice it up. But as of late there has been a crapload of ASCN and POS moving about and most likely moving all their gear to the NPC stations there so they don't have to worry about the BoB juggernaut that is on their throat. Is it me or is Stain turning into Aridia of last year?

I think the simpliest way to put it is though: AAA Control much of northern Stain The Eastern part of of Stain is mostly control by Kurai Komichi. Western Stain running from the W-Q leg up to T-NN is controlled (mostly) by TSDS. Central Stain is a mess... with many of the above plus non-allied Corps fighting for control over many individial systems there. All of the factions intrude on one anothers space almost daily picking off unaware ratters and newbies of their neighbors. There has from time to time been capital ship exchanges. Even a very small amount of some POS warfare (Yes in Stain). There is no all out war however... just a lot of ships being exchanged for the sake of PvP. Thats the shortest answer I can come up with. -----
