I have to disagree. over 3 ghz and 1 gig of ddr ram is more than enough, not the bottleneck at all. Its the graphic effects of massive fleet battles, they take a toll on video cards.
No, because quite some time back CCP removed the physical drawing of all ships over about 10km or so I believe (I dont know exact figure)
I think it's all database related....

maybe, I mean I know the game shakes when you call in your drones sometimes, but with lots of lasers everywhere and missiles flying around it could certainly be stressful on a video card
but still 3.7 ghz seems like more than enough, im just not seeing that as a bottleneck
are we talking clienside database here? here's a thought, harddrive and the data connections! if the HDD has a lot to access something there or the path the data takes might be a bottleneck

actually, alot of problems have seemed to happen when I have been warped in on (eg around gates) en masse or warped into concentrated blobs of ships.
I understand my processor may help in improving this too, any suggestions on upgrading from my 3.6gighz p4?

i've already done he fraps thing and thats why I know I have a problem.
IMHO, eve needs a gpu accelerated UI

Well enough to pvp for about 2 years (had an atrocious piece of junk before that). Only upgrade i made was a 6600gt nvidia card, and that wasn't even because of eve.
