Horus V wrote:Is it possible to switch characters on same acc without a need to close the client? If not then I would like to understand why is that not the case? As long as the server still expects the character (ID) to persist during a session, you have to close that one and connect with a new one to log in a different character. The launcher added some convenience for establishing connections to the server, but the client did'nt change much.

Also, new launcher should have shortcuts to screenshots, fittings, overview, and/or settings folder as a button built in. that would be Client settngs: %localappdata%\CCP\EVE\
Player Data: %userprofile%\Documents\EVE\
Currently, the client rquires settings to be present in the client settings hierarchy and saves chat logs, screenshots, fittings, market data exports to the player data hierarchy.
Unless CCP wants to mess with the client, shortcuts (added to the E-Menu of the launcher) certainly may help.
Maybe there'll even be no complaints by some that messed up their client settings.

Nora Miller wrote:One question though: I have multiple installations of EVE because I read that it would help with performance of each client running. Will there be or is there a way to tell the launcher which .exe to launch for which account? Or any way to tell which .exe the launcher choses? The new Launcher uses a single installation of the client binaries itself (for each server). The default location of the binaries is C:\ProgramData\CCP\EVE\SharedCache\[tq|sisi|duality].
For the client settings of your individual accounts you can set one of the settings profiles within the launcher which will handle the rest for you.
No need to have multiple client binaries. The Launcher will launch the correct .exe for you, depending on whether you want to connect to tq, sisi or duality.
You can remove your previously existing client installations if you like.

Kachiko Sama wrote:I've been using this for a couple of days without issue until downtime today. Now when I open the launcher i get a plain black box on my screen that is unresponsive to all input. I have to terminate it from the task manager.
The debug log in the folder (d:\evelauncher in my case) contains the following [...] The missing qtwebengine_resources.pak file should be unrelated to your issue as that file was missing since the first version of the new launcher.
However, a plain box, may be related to problems to access the web page(s) that build the new launcher's window contents, though. Check this page to find if you can't access the launcher page at all

The OS I'm running is vista. I know of others that also experience crashes with the same .dll and they also use Vista, so that may be the cause of the problems.

It appears that the permissions of the files for Sisi and Chaos are broken:
Sisi, as above: https://d17ueqc3zm9j8o.cloudfront.net/eveonline_969924.txt Forbidden ( https://d17ueqc3zm9j8o.cloudfront.net/eveonline_969664.txt for the previous build works)
TQ/Multiplicity: https://d17ueqc3zm9j8o.cloudfront.net/eveonline_969345.txt OK Duality: https://d17ueqc3zm9j8o.cloudfront.net/eveonline_968465.txt OK Chaos: https://d17ueqc3zm9j8o.cloudfront.net/eveonline_1000002.txt Forbidden

Currently, the Login Host is unavailable ( https://login.eveonline.com/oauth/authorize/?client_id=eveLauncherTQ&lang=en&response_type=code&redirect_uri=https://login.eveonline.com/launcher?client_id=eveLauncherTQ&scope=eveClientToken%20user )
This case is'nt made obvioous be by the new launcher. Login using the Server List option from the E-Menu works fine.
Probably also using the (tq) exefile.exe and most likely the old launcher

The Change to the Settings Migration also is greatly appreciated.
I just found out that I did'nt have to use an _ for spaces in that folder name, the migration tool handles that nicely.
