As a feature request, would it be possible to add 'hotkeys' to different clients, as I sometimes run up to 7 clients on my two screens and love windowed full screen due to the extra real estate it gives. Switching bewteen clients now has me either opening the launcher itself and use processes (really cool btw), and use that or use Alt-Tab a few times or Alt-T (taskbar) and then hover over the Aero popup.
Switching between clients would be so much smoother if we could configure a key to bring a client to the front. |

I was. I ended up reinstalling 969236 that was linked in the OP and had set it to Release, which worked. But... At some point in the jumping back and forth between versions, it had downloaded the update to 973659 and wanted to update to it regardless of the version I was on. Finally, I let it update again from 969236 to 973659 and it's now working.
When a launcher update is downloaded, where is it stored? |

A small UI opinion for the MOTD postition:
There's a better spot for it if it comes in from the left and stays in the middle left section of the launcher. The current spot is the bottom left and covers the banners and such.
More specifically, let the motd follow the same flow as the Feedback and Bug Report buttons, but of course the same original (Motd) size.
No bugs for me, and good work. |

Try double clicking a username for an active client (teal highlight) in the GUI, to switch focus to that client. This skips the step of having to open up the processes window.

I'm curious as to why you removed the nice little feature that let you see which account would open on which screen and added another button to be clicked before logging in multiple clients.
Was it simply - how it was just worked and so wasn't good enough - So had to make it less obvious and require more clicks
I do wonder sometimes who if the person thinking up this shite even considers those who have to use it.
Then we have; Where 4 of the 5 location options for getting settings (if that's what they are) DON'T EXIST. So I am stuck with 1 option for settings for 7 clients and 11 alts. Prior to the new launcher, I was able to set my clients up how I chose - Different overviews, different window placement, different neocoms, etc. Now they are all the same. No amount of moving and changing things makes a difference, upon next restart all clients are the same again.
My miners don't need a pvp overview. I have no idea where the settings wee saved previously but it certainly wasn't in the generic "Eve" folder.
NB; If your designing a new feature - Don't add complexity - Simple is great.
Is there a way I can save individual instance setting so next time they have to be imported, I can use them. The Generic Eve folder doesn't help.

I like the changes in 973659
here is my wish list of things I'd like to see : - double click on the account to launch it, hitting the small play button is no fun - same links as old launcher at the top : I have to launch the old one to get the patch note link (which is a PITA to find on its own)
eye problems, not liking much - error message in red, add a border or set them in blue during blood raider festa haha - design issue with bottom panels but I guess red is red on red so red is not so red on red... - why oh why a center panel for the account. could the panel be right or left, shorter and that would lead some display space for news/small vide like old launcher? I know new design and team web killing stuff but "less" is not alway better. analogy : I like patch note, I don't care for eve update, this new launcher gives me this aftertaste for now
bugs - you can select text in the account list, I guess the web page lockup is not on the dynamic list - you may want to disable right clic as you are it (browser context menu, with back, forward and reload)
1 thing I didn't find funny : update deleted ALL the files in the launcher folder.
ok this is not a ccp approved thing, but my launcher script that launch the launcher was there with some of my devs version. nothing major lost here whatever the case the only file you should delete are : the file you installed and the temporary stuff you created. you know them, you have the list, store it in one of the file and use it. and file list is of course relative path.
imagine a user installing the launcher right at the root of is drive (D:\ for example) what happens? "wait while I'm deleting your whole drive" you know there are basic user out there, and you know a case like this WILL happen. (Oh the things I've seen, *fade to black and white and dramatic music starts playing*)
keep up the good work guys |

you are funny in some ways... you clearly understand nothing on how the windows you screenshoted works, nor do you read ALL the post in this thread
the left column is your fault, you moved the games around, changed path, you have to select the correct one the right colum HAS A ADD BUTTON FFS create how many profile YOU need then if you want a copy, drag and drop, or don't for a clean out of the box experience
but what you describe here is clearly the consequence of not reading at least the DEV post in the thread about a BETA product |

Please forgive if I'm not providing enough contextual information aside from build number.
- Updated launcher - License agreement screen pops up. - As I scroll down to the bottom it's not a smooth scrolling but rather the slider jumping me up and down so I have to do it a few times to actually reach bottom for the "I Agree" button... - Which I don't see and suspect is hidden behind the Crimson Harvest or Plex sale ads since the background of the license agreement extends down and behind the ads.
Other than that I've been quite pleased with the new launcher. |

ooh nice! now this add weight and coherence to my previous request
@Ssoraszh Tzarszh : windows 10 implemented 2 NICE things with windows management, 1 : virtual desktop = move all you client in a new VD 2 : Windows+Tab = like alt+tab on MacOS : bunch of big previews (bigger than alt+tab, refreshing and windows stay open when releasing keyboard, you select with mouse for focus, create new VD, drag windows in VD, and switch VD)
and alt+tab or windows+tab beind limited to VD, switching client is bliss
oh, and doublclic on teal colored account works on diff+¬rent VD
dunno about performance as this may make focus more active and kill framerate, but inactive VD seem without refresh, so it's cool for now
needless to say, it's windowed mode friendly, fixed mode should work as you drag the windows from WindowsTab, you don't need a title bar to switch VD and if using windows mode, this also work across VD
I advise setting all eve in the same VirtualDesktop as it's not easy to switch VD (my own opinion there, make your own) |

bug 1
Damn, half an hour of playing with that strange bug : a white windows appear with either "test" or "connector" appearing : Steps to reproduce - Client must be in windowed mode - launch the launcher - launch an account client, it opens not maximizes, MAXimize it with windows control - connect a character - alt+tab to something else or the launcher and double clic, the client comes back on top, still maximized - MINimize it - go to launcher and double clic.
not bugged: when doing that from process windows
now the fun part, if you close the white windows and do it again, after 2 or 3 close, you get your client back, maximized if you Mininize the white windows and doublclic a 2nd white windows appears, reduce, doublcic again the client comes back, but this time it is "restored" = orginal size
after that all is gone to hell, each double clic on the launcher does something different, mainly "restoring" wihch is annoying : windows 8 and 7 : eve launch almost maximize, just a few pixel that 10 YEARS of coding could not fix windows 10 : it"s about a third of the surface that is missing. now this "go to" client function will make ppl cry, I'll try fixed mode just after Bug 2
Bug 2
Virtual desktop are great from launcher launch a client put windowed maximized client on a Virtual desktop VD2 go then in VD2, make sure is like you want it go back to the launcher/VD1 doubleclic on account, destkop slides, client is restored to original windows size
as I was testing a few time, the problem occur whatever the size was for both bug, if you have splited screen, or quarter size window, this will be cancelled and it will come back to original size I'm testing fixed windows

I have been using the new launcher for a bit now with our any problems until this evening. I went to load the new launcher and for a second I saw it come up even with the new blood raider background. There was a mention in the bottom left hand corner about restarting the launcher ,but before I could do anything a error message popped up about a missing file. The file in quesiton was Qt5concurrent.dll. Any help on how to go about fixing this would be greatly appreciated. |

Since the change in the settings profiles, selecting from 10 setting slots and filling them in as you go.
That said, what I don't like about to current profiles is the popup window that it uses, it's just not 'simple' enough for my tiny brain. It's also quite a jaring change to the current user experience where everything else is so neatly built into the client.
Thanks for your hard work team! I love this launcher a ton more than the previous one :) |

Seems the launcher has a limit.
3 clients selected to load. 2 load ok, 3rd, well it loads as far as getting bulk data yada yada then nothing but a black screen. Change it to another profile, still the same.
Open select profile, change profile, click start, it goes through the motions until it comes to loading character selection, which doesn't happen.
Client won't start via new launcher, .exe, old launcher. Using .exe it got as far as "local session corrupt restart". No amount of restarting matters, I have at least 1 character that is now unplayable. Repair tool completed with errors - C:\Users\Xxx\AppData\Local\Temp\nse3995.tmp\repair.exe.log - does not exist.
This is only affecting 1 account - My other accounts login with no problems.
Oh and the issues with my previous post - Where are the clients settings - I'd like an answer to. It may actually be related to this isuue. The generic Eve folder doesn't help much when your running multiple clients. Don't know how the Exe file managed it, but it just did, now with a launcher that is supposed to contain this information, it isn't there.
PS; the new launcher is still not going to "offline" when TQ goes down.

You can do that from the same window you can add and copy profiles (profile menu - settings). Just select TQ from both dropdowns and drag your main profile to -¦right side again. It will ask to rename it.
ps. very nicely done that settings management window. Maybe not the easiest to get into, but once you do, it's very handy and powerful. :) |

I'd like for it to be a master profile that can copy to unknown characters/accounts without additional intervention (otherwise known as 'tedious xref of character/account id's'). Even if the launcher will copy the character/account dependent parts of the profile on detection (which it does not), for me it should also feed those changes made back into that master profile on client close for example, and not just fork a copy that will then subsequently diverge with out of date overviews, etc. .
Otherwise, it's still not really better for me than launching for a specific monitor via a set of desktop shortcuts to different junctions for bin/exefile, from where I only then login the account>char I want.
I'd like to use one set of settings, but select the monitor a client will load on, in the launcher before I click run.

Main 1-3 (rarely more than 2 at once) mostly preferable on mon1 or 2; alts mostly preferably on Mon 3-5 (with lower graphics settings, but that's not a requirement or at least one I can fix with a deliberate settings fork). |

The initial goal with settings profiles in the new launcher was exactly to give you the same functionality as different junctions (or full installs). That doesn't mean we'll stop there, but sometimes things are best done in baby steps.
Going beyond that requires changing the client code itself - as soon as the launcher is stable and we can have everybody migrating over to the new launcher, we'll shift our focus to improving settings overall.
