Trying to decide which Amarr Recon ship to go for. Not very well skilled in drones atm if that helps make a choice. What are the pro's and con's for each ship?
Role: PVP tackler and 0.0 gate "support"

PVP tackler is pilgrim because you want to sneak up on people cloaked.
For 0.0 Gate support you will need a Curse because pilgrim is slow to get into nos range while Curse can just nos from pretty much anywhere on the gate.
Rule of thumb is pilgrim is better for solo and curse is better for gangs, although nanocurse confuses that...

Yes they are, just check cpu requirments of balmer vs T2 tracking dis...
You can get balmer for 400k each, if you look in regions 6-10 jumps from the mainhubs. or just buy em in jita for 2.7 mil

Balmers use a whopping 16 CPU less than a t2.
In this case the named option is far superior fitting wise to t2.
And at the OP.
Pilgrim cloaks, curse doesn't. The use of these ships is situational, I'm sure you can figure it out.

Pilgrim is good for solo or clocker recon gangs.
But also useful for gates etc, as it can have some tidy armour hp.
Curse is less useful solo, good for small tactical gangs. And good for gates due ot its nos range etc.
But suffers on low hp making it easy to kill.
