ive played for 2 days with the new client and noticed severe problems in the game right after installing it. i dont know if im the only one who had these problems , but the new features are not worth the trouble.
1. game freezes up often , closing the client and restarting it wont work . can only successfully re-enter the game after full pc reset (at which case the pc warns me "low memory" before resetting . having 256mb ram , this is the first time eve caused this kind of error)
2. logging in , undocking , and the general game lags badly with the new patched client.
i had to uninstall , and downgrade to 1238 and now all is well again . i highly recommend not touching this patch , it does not seem to be stable to me atm.

1253 has been pretty bad to me, I can only play in fullscreen. If I try to switch to windowed mode, it crashes the game.
FZappa, I'm trying to downgrade to 1238 but I can't find the proper patches. Can you help?
thx

I find that it locks up as did 1246 but this is a little more often and only a hard reset helps

1253 seems the best build of Gemini yet for me. Only bug thats not fixed yet is mining drones bugging the ore stack apart from that I've not found any problems.

I have 3 Computers with Eve installed on them two have 1238 one have 1253 The 1238 have no problems at all, while the 1253 is VERY slow to load. It starts first at the character selection screen the browser page takes no time to load, but loading arrows (upper right corner of the windows) are still here as long as the mouse-and-red-cross when i hover the mouse above the browser window. When i enter in-game, it takes 5 minutes ; in station user interface takes at least 30 seconds to fully load. For entering/exiting its one minute. and finnaly when i tried to give an order to the ship, it takes few seconds to comply. It seems that the client has a huge lag to fetch data from server. Maybe it isnt the reality but it looks like.
I will send a bug report with log to from the game later to show the loading delays.
No sig, this is making lag this forum, mine is 59 octets !

Would dare to say that with the new build, EVE has never been more stable and, in general, better (on my comp....). |

I'm running two comps, one with the new build and one with the old. Game is generally more stable on the new one.
I've also noticed that ALOT of the problems I had earlier (in the last build) went away when I upgraded memory. I really thought that 256MB were sufficient to run eve (maybe not to run it 100% but at least it should work). It isn't. Upgraded to 1 GB memory and now alot of problems are gone, including a few lag issues actually.

FYI: I've found EVE to be either a bit leaky or not properly freeing some memory. In any case memory usage tends to increase with the passage of time when eve is kept running.
For example, on my pc total memory usage is about 300-350 meg when starting eve. After 2 hours or so this is usually up to about 500 meg. Add another half hour and memory usage will typically exceed my 512 meg physical memory limit, in turn causing swapouts and, well, lag.
However, a quick restart (of eve, NOT windows) always brings things back to normal.

If this forum only had a search option...
EVE has issues with client machine date/time. If your comp resync it's time, your game will most likely freeze or start lagging (even if we are talking about tiny modifications). In another thread i read some days ago they mentioned a windows service who automatically sync time. if i encounter that post i will leave the link here... that might be the problem

Now that you have mentioned it, yes.
I am experiencing some of those lockups. It's rare, but it already happened 3 or 4 times.
Also, CTDs right after logging in. 4 times.
But besides those problems, everything else is fine. _______________________________________________

Ok we have both good and bad replies on this patch. Some seem to have really bad problems with it and some think this is the best one. Could you state what version of display drivers you have? I have heard that 45.xx Nvidia drivers have had some problems and if you take the newest once it should work fine.
If that does not help then please send us a bug report Bug Reports or send a mail to [email protected] with a short description on what is the problem. Please include DirectX info (Open c:\windows\system32\DxDiag.exe and press "Save All Information")and a LogServer log
