Hypothetical:
A squad commander can support himself and 9 people in his squad with is bonus. this means any squad can support 10 people tops and get bonus's from the squad commander.
I am a wing commander, I have been put in the wing commander position in the fleet and have wingcommander1 skill trained.
the squad in my wing has 13 people in it 12 members and 1 squad commander.
The squad commander does not get my bonus's however do the 12 people?

You cant put 12 people in a squad, 10 (including the commander) at most.
Of course if you have Wing Command at 1 you can simply create two squads.
The commander of a squad will not receive bonuses from the wing commander, all squad members however receives bonuses from both the wing and their squad commander. Bonuses don't stack, so only the highest bonus counts from either the squad or wing commander.

And the squad members get the bonus from the wing commander only if the squad commander gives his own bonuses to them to (i.e. has enough leadership levels for the entire squad).
A squad without a commander or a large squad lead by a commander with insufficient leadership doesn't get the wing commander bonuses.
The squad commander only gets his own bonuses.

Very useful thread for those trying to battle with the gang mechanics. My question...
Does the FC bonuses have the same pre-reqs? i.e. that the wing commanders have lvl 5 wing commander and the squad commanders have lvl 5 leadership?
If so do wing commanders/squad commanders and squad members then get FC bonuses?

in a fleet, anyone in a "Commander" position will only get his own bonuses, ever.
in a squad, if the squad commander has skills to support the number of people in the squad, the members that are not the commander will get bonuses from the highest skilled commanders in their heirarchy (fleet>wing>squad)

To put it simply,
every commander...whether at fleet, wing or squad level, must have enough skills to run the squads/wings under his command to be able to pass his superior's bonus to all the people below him.
So if you are a FC, where every wing under you has 5 squads...then yes those wing commanders better have their skills at level 5 to be able to run all the squads underneath them.
