I never judged you for defending a cause I didn't agree with Col. Sanders, and I would have hoped you understood this.
There's a big difference between being against slavery (a misguided viewpoint, but forgivable) and marrying someone who goes around paying people to kill each other for fun. And you have judged me, and many other Amarrians, for defending a cause you don't believe in. It's just that, like with you being against slavery, it wasn't important enough to get in the way.
This is important enough though, because it goes far above and beyond a simple difference of opinion. It's about being in bed with a murderer, and one who personifies all the causes you not only disagreed with, but used to find repulsive.

Truly Revan has procured a victory in this. I would mourn if Miss Doyle had a soul to be lost.
True believers, those with faith and conviction, are never swayed from their path. Only those who's convictions falter, who's message was never truly believed, can fail. The path of god may be righteous, but I am not so blind as to recognize those who follow other paths, even if it damns them. I have seen all to well the strength of these people.
Miss Doyle has shown her true nature here, for whatever purposes. Where once I saw a strong woman, full of false ideals to be sure, but of strong character with a clear path before her, I now see only weakness. I thought her a true believer, even in a false faith, and that should have set her above the common miscreants of the galaxy.
But here, in this union with inhumanity itself, we see the truth behind the lies. When one is stripped of their strongest convictions, when one fails in their own morality, they are less than human.
It seems I was wrong about Miss Doyle. In the end, she is nothing.

I think you can believe me when I say I am not a crazed suitor to either of your or the bloodsucker, trying to sabotage your union for personal gain.
Yet I think you are making a mistake. Whatever you say, you cannot really love a person out of context, as a separate thing from what she says and does. They say you can forgive anything, and maybe it is so, but it does not seem to me lady Nefaris is asking for forgivance for her Sani Sabik ways or other atrocities in her past.
Whatever troubles you, don't throw away your life, Kaleigh; it's precious to many of us, not only crazed suitors but also friends and admirers. I don't know what drives you to this madness, but if you need a place to go or someone to help, you know there are many you can call, and I am happy to say I am one of them.

I thought it obvious from context and from the lack of "Junior Diplomat, Namtz'aar K'in" from under the post, but well, it is my habit to keep on underestimating how much people forget I am a private person in addition to representing certain institutions.

Many would call the Empire the most brutal and oppressive regime ever to grace this universe, Yoshito, and yet you choose to defend this institution because it's what you believe is right. I respect your courage of conviction, even if I don't agree with it.
I will defend my future bride because love tells me this is right. I'm sure plenty of people think I'm a murderer as well, but where does it stop? Who is right and who is wrong, and if not for myself who should I live to appease? The Federation? The State? Isk?
No, I follow my heart above all else, and if that makes me a monster then so be it. I am a true believer in this power and I've never swayed from its path, for better or worse.
I've never enslaved anyone, and I never intend to either. People are slaves enough to societal obligations and moral overtures from distant judges they will never meet, and there's no purpose for me to add another layer of control when many lack the ability to free themselves when allowed the choice.
I realize we haven't spoken much as of late Elsebeth, it seems worlds apart keep us both plenty busy with affairs and I hope you and your partner are well. I know you may not approve of this, but it would mean the universe to me if you could attend the Gallentean ceremony at the very least. I still consider you a friend, someone I can trust to tell me what's on her mind even when it isn't in her best interests. *grins*

My brothers and sisters seem to think the sky is falling with this 'unholy union,' but a wedding is a wedding, even for blooders! I saw we be happy for them, relax, enjoy the festivities, and worry about the shooting and the posturing the day after. Just make sure to double-check any red wine you might drink at the ceremony....

A greedy heart never finds peace, and finding true happiness is never about doing better, it's doing well with what you have. Fortunately for me, I have everything I could ever want in a partner and I'm eternally satisfied to have found that in my beloved.
I've discovered more about myself than I'd ever imagined just in this short time in her presence, and hopefully we'll share many more experiences in the coming days. And I have to say I didn't realize how slimming red can be until now.
