Hello all.
Im trying to figure out the best pvp setup for a drake. I loved this one:
*****HIGH***** 7 x Heavy Missile Launcher II's
*****MIDS***** 1 x Large Shield Booster II 1 x Sensor Booster II or 20km Scram (Solo PVP) 1 x Medium Electrochemical Cap Booster w/ 2 x 400 cap charges (12 more in cargo) 2 x Invulnerability Field II's 1 x Dread Guristas EM Hardner
*****LOWS***** 2 x Power Diagnostic System II's 1 x Ballistic Control System II 1 x Internal Force Field Array I
*****DRONES***** 1 x Heavy Web Drone
BUT its a way expensive on skills and parts. Im not that good yet to keep buying this stuff when my ship get destroyed.
So please... I need a good pvp setup, but not that expensive. Can anyone advice me?
Thanks.

Make everything that's t2 NOT t2, instead, named t1. And that goes for faction too.
So you'd ideally end up with something like
7x 'Malkuth" or Limos HML
1x named LSB 1x named 20km scram 1x Medium Cap Booster w 2x400 cap charges 2x Invulns (can use named) 1x EM Hardener II (cheap, I should say)
2x named PDU (Type-D or Mark I are good and cheap) 1x BCS I (Here's 8mil right here you don't need to spend) 1x non IFF DCU
I'll agree it's a good setup, a bit light on a tank and lose a few DPS, but it still gets the job done. -----

Drake should be passive tanked.
Between corps atm, the NPC one is strictly a temporary thing. RAWR!111 Sig Hijackz0r!!11 - Immy |

thats only a matter of opinions to be honest, passive or active tank just depends what your using the ship for.

I agree... Passive tanks the way to go with a Drake...
*****HIGH***** 5 x Heavy Missile Launcher 2 x NOS
*****MIDS***** 1 x Large Shield Booster I or preferably II 1 x Shield Boost Amplifier 2 x Resist EM and Thermal 1 x Invulnerability Field I or II's 1 x Shield Extender II
*****LOWS***** 2 x Power Diagnostic System 1 x Ballistic Control System 1 x Damage Control System

You, sir... Need a sanity check (with your setup you might as well use a Ferox and you just wrote an active tanked setup)
for the OP - a true passive tanked Drake really rocks but if you just use named equipment or T1 you really don't miss out much on performance... just avoid faction, T2 launchers, internal force field and Invulnerability Field II's and the setup should be rather cheap to lose.

Yeah your right its not a total passive tank its more of a 50/50. But I haven't seen one yet... They all have active mods wether it be shield boosters or hardners... I just recommended that he drop the other hardners and use the passive resists. Keep the Inv Field and put a Damage control in his Low.. That way he'll only be using 2 active shield mods... Toggle the Shield booster when needed and NOS to make up for the cap if you can... It works... But hey i'm still learning & am always up for advice.. I was just offering what has worked for me..

Passive tanks can use active hardeners. If it has a shield booster, it is NOT a passive tank. If it has hardeners and extenders, it's generally viewed as passive.
Because you wont cap out from hardeners alone. Whereas a booster on anything resembling a passive setup (and I mean via lowslots) will kill your cap.
OP, as said just switch t2/faction for named t1.

1. Never fly what you can't afford to replace. You might want to look into a cheaper ship if you can't afford to equip it right. I keep finding many T1 named units as expensive as the t2, so your mileage may vary. 2: 20km scram means you're looking to be close - justifying the t2 launchers and heavy missiles. Every little bit helps. 2.5: 1 t2 invuln, and hardeners galore should do the job just fine. 3: allows you to drop the PSDs for a cpu and all BCUs
This will let you come in, beat someone silly, and hopefully leave if things get ugly. Its not an omgwtfishstickspwnmobile. Its not for someone in a hurry to get out and fight.
