I aplied with the Dutch Royal Airforce, wanted a job as an intelligence officer. Past all physical en mental tests, and got checked by the intelligence on background, but got turned down, as the goverment wanted to cut down on the costs (they canceled 9,000 jobs).
I allways wondered if I could combine my job with EVE... ----------------------

Just lookin through the posts. Its been a while since I looked in here. I cant believe theres no one else stationed at Fairchild AFB. Hell, I figured there would be more Air Force geeks posting here than any other branch.

That's why I <3 you guys.
Formerly Sgt, USMC here in 155mm towed artillery, now live in Dallas and have a cushy civilian job. Sometimes, it's just nice to shave once a week and get a haircut monthly.
You hard-dogs keep it real though! I've had my share of blowing stuff up, sleeping in the mud and snow, raining for days on end, 20 mile ruck marches, and PT at 0400. I have all the respect in the world for anyone serving in the Armed Forces. Hoorah! Stay safe!

Unfortunately we don't live in the land of OZ and there isn't little fairys sprinkling little bits of peace and harmony at every corner of the earth.
But we do live in a violent cruel world filled with hate and ignorance. Hate which is caused by ignorance.

That would be great for all players, esp military who deploy. When I go "down range" I have friends handle my skill training for me, and I have done the same for them when they deploy. Kinda nice to come back after 4-6 mos with all those 20day+ skill trained..... "Keep the Smak low, and the ROF high"

Bad news Sabre....internet is sat based and very expensive. Was going for about 3 grand set up and several hundred a month bout a year ago when I went there with Cav...ping time is awful (just over 400 for google if I remmember right)...but get enough of your buddies involved and you can at least vid cam back to US for family. Make sure you know how to lay cat 5 right! and take a couple good switches/hubs. Be careful..stay safe!

It's cool to see so many military brethren here on the forums and in-game. For being such a large universe, it's still a pretty small world...
I myself am an E-4 in the USAF stationed on Okinawa, Japan - working in the AMMO career field.
It ain't all that and a bag o' chips but it is what it is...

I guess you have no friends or family to protect from those that would do them harm. Have you been anywhere besides home? Well I've been US Navy since high school. I've been to war, and around the world. I'm sorry you feel the way you do but you have to ask yourself what you would do when something you care about is being threatened and you have to make a choice to hurt someone that is willing to hurt you or stay there because your afraid of what you might be capable of at the cost of those you care about. Trust me its not a hard decision. V/r AG2

In my Corp there were 4 of us from the same Company. U.S. Army. One got out, but the 3 that are left are all currently in Afghanistan with a Longbow Apache Attack Helicopter unit . We have all been lucky enough to be able to have internet over here and ba able to play. It's slow going and I miss my connection back home, but at least we're here The one that got out still plays, and there are two others in my company that play, but are not in my Corp, so at one point we had 6 in all playing.

US Army Armor, but transferring to MI. Just started playing EVE a month ago from over here in Iraq. Can't wait to play on an actual internet connection instead of the sat-link stuff.
To everyone else deployed: Stay low and don't forget to shoot back, preferably with a tank.
Are there any military/ex-military corps that take on noobs like me? I can't do any pvp or any multiplayer on my connection right now, unfortunately. But I'll be home in a couple months and be able to play for real. If there's any corps that would consider taking me on, I'd appreciate it, please PM me in game. Thanks.

So I posted in this thread, like... two years and four pages ago... I had just gotten out of the Marines. For some reason I decided I didn't like the local Reserves MOS and so I chose the National Guard...
So here I am, sitting in the Guard (131st Cavalry Scout, Alabama) waiting on my conditional release. Few more weeks and its active in the Corps again for me.
Who'd have thought I'd have wanted it back so much ?

After reading through this topic a few months ago, and then personally meeting one or two of the members who had posted here, an idea sparked. Why not create a corporation dedicated to those who serve? That said, if any of you are interested please contact me in game via eve mail or chat or you can contact Machtigen Hammer. We would love to get a good corp up and running that is known throughout the eve universe to be primarily military based. We're just getting things started and could really use some good troops to help us make it work.
