A long time ago (September 2004) I started the "Save My Mouse Wheel" campaign.
The basic essence of it was that after every jump you had to zoom out to even see the gate, let alone what was beside you. This behaviour was fixed in one of the exodus patches.
Well, as you may have noticed, this old behaviour has reared it's ugly head again in Revelations.
When you jump into an enemy camp the last thing you want is a high detail view of all the ships and the frame rate drop that comes with it.
So please CCP, "Save My Mouse Wheel" (again) --

Temporary solution to borked mousewheels: Hold both mouse buttons down and drag mouse backwards :)
QFT though. BUT FIX THE DAMN MAIL BUG FIRST.

Yah. I bug reported this on Sisi and have done so on TQ as well. If anyone hasn't yet done that please do. Let's get the message across. -- (Battle hardened industrialist)

yes, it seems CCP has no working source control and no working bugtracking.

Yes they do but it requires players reporting the bugs they find, can't fix what you don't know is broken, if its not working then bug report it. ---

The devs just find it funny to have the bughunters fix the same things repeatedly.
Examples: Drones, Camera zoom, evemail not registering as being read, input field entries disappearing with session changes, objects visually sticking to each others, planets flickering, shield & capacitor readout getting stuck, Overview settings getting reset, ... --*=*=*--
The cause for this is not yet known, but we do have a possible fix in testing. by Sharkbait | 2006.09.20 |

Ye-es. Sorta. Except, well, they play the game don't they? How could they not notice this?
Nah. I think that the real problem is that the devs are technical developers. They don't have a very good eye for UI. Until/unless players jump up and down about these things the devs are happy to ignore them. -- (Battle hardened industrialist)

Now wait a minute, you mean to tell me that a bug that was reported in 2004 and was fixed didnt not make it into the regression test cases to be run as part of checkout prior to build onto production?
That my friends is just poor workmanship.
And I am not even talking about the fact that if this were a new bug that CCP is still dependent on the PLAYER base to find bugs and report them when they should be INTUITIVELY obvious to any developer/tester (i.e. the first time you JUMP INTO A SYSTEM "Hey, why did I zoom all the way back down?").
Its not like this is some complex issue requiring a full load on the servers to manifest or an obscure functionality that only .001% of the player base use.
EVERYBODY jumps at one point or another. So please back of of the "if players dont tell us we cant fix it" line on this one. ________________________________ CCP, Invalidating the underlying assumptions that thousands of players have based their years of effort (and money) on. |

Oh, and cut pod zoom after ship is destroyed. Most pilots have one thing on their mind after having their ship destroyed, and it isn't a detailed inspection of their pod.
Thanks,
