As the title says i want to be able to delete some of my jump clones, I'm looking for a right click feature so that i could just right click on my clone and press delete. Yes i know there is no such thing as a simple change in this game but it is a small change compared to the other things in the game.
Is there any reason we shouldn't be able to delete jump clones? I can't see one!
---Yes I know I could just jump to one of my clones exit the station and pop myself but TBH that would take far to long.

Problem not solved! I can't just pop over to the stations for a few reasons, firstly I'd get popped on the way and second thats like a 600 jump round trip. There should be a delete function, there is no reason not to have one.

I agree. Having to jump to it and then be podded back home is an unnecessary annoyance, and it costs the price of a clone. It should be possible to nuke ill-placed or superfluous jump clones. We can move our clone remotely without even buying a new one. Why can't we do the same with jump clones? -------------- Civis Ascendant Sum |

Yeah i never even thought about being able to move the jump clone somewhere else, im sure this would be a good idea to put in aswell. But deleting jump clones is still No. 1 on my list

There is an option to delete jump clones. The problem is that it doesn't work over long range. ___________________________________________ Save the veldspar! and the Chimera!! |

Edited by: Lunanie on 02/01/2007 14:01:50 When jump clones were introduced you could right-click on the clone (in the character sheet) and select 'Delete' or something.
but CCP removed this option without any warning.... I made a petition about it and all they had to say was that I had to make a post on the forum so the dev's could explain why they removed it (CPP is not that good with internal communication)

People where accidently removing jump clones with implants. Honestly, the only improvement I would like to jump clones is to reduce the time between jump clones.

Are then going to remove the right-click 'Trash' feature too.... because people could accidently trow away items.
C'mon if they right-click on a clone and select 'Delete' and they are asked for a confirmation and you still click 'Yes' then they deserve it.

Is everyone sure we even had a delete clone option? And i don't think it was removed because people were deleting clones with implants. People lost implant clones when they jumped to a station with 2 clones in it. E.g you have a clone in X station you jump from X to Y leaving a jump clone and your clone in X you jump back from Y to X into a the jump clone which somehow kills your other clone.

Remote deleting of the clones should be allowed. I think there should be a clear visible aid stating clone implants.

Im actually now in the process of getting rid of 3 of my jump clones but TBH 3 days to delete 3 clones is a bit messed up in my opinion.
And if this topic does reach the devs, lads can you please put up warning if the clone about to be deleted has implants :)

Ok now i ****ED someone replied to this topic and said why dont you just jump to the station undock and pop your self home.
What a great idea NOT! im now sitting in a hostile station, of course my clone is now only worth 900K SP so i cant undock and flying home in 0.0 means my character will lose his 20mil SP.
Yes i can just jump to another station in 24 hours but thats useless as i will still have a sill clone in a station where i dont want one, how crap in this.

Actually, jumpclones don't have grades associated with them, which is why you don't have to buy a new clone after installing one. You can jump to a jump clone you made when you had an alpha clone and you'd still have the Xi or whatever you are currently upgraded to.
So podding yourself through clones is a valid way to do it, but you can only do it once a day and you have to buy a new clone every time, which is more trouble than I think it should take.

Yea i know jump clones dont have grades. I just thought that when i jump cloned i would still have my normal back up clone, its probably because i jumped from a station where I allready had a jump clone.
Well i have petitioned this problem and this is the reply i got.
Hi,
I'm afraid, you can only delete jump clones at present, if you're docked in a station and have access to the Medical Facility in it. That way you can open the Jump Clones tab, receiving the options/buttons "Install" or "Delete". I'm afraid, you can at present not do so through the Character Sheet. ------------------------------------------------------------ I'm sorry for the inconvenience caused by this, but as it is a game mechanics function, which is working as intended at the moment, we can unfortunately not interfere with this situation. I'm including this in my shift report though, so we'll have to wait and see whether this feature will be changed in future.
Best regards, GM Huginn EVE Online Customer Support ------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah it made it onto a shift report :) I'm happy with this. Now all that has to happen is for CCP to see that there is a sort of error and change it.
Lets hope they change it :)

Right now I'm in an awkward situation where I'm stationed in a largely useless station 40 jumps from anything I could possibly want. I trained the Infomorph Psychology skill specifically so I could "beam out" of situations like this and avoid the hour of 0.0 travel it would take me to chug my Ibis back to a station where I can find either assets of mine or a decent market.
But I can't clone jump out, because then I'd have a totally useless jump clone installed here, and I can only have four of those things, so I don't want to use one frivolously. I'll have to pod myself back home, which means paying to upgrade a new clone.
It's silly. We need the ability to delete jump clones remotely if we're going to use this feature effectively.

Exactly mate, there are many situations where just going to the station and deleting the clone is not an option or at least not a favourable one. Why should we have to commit suicide to get rid of them, last article I read said that waking up after losing your pod is a disorientating and generally unpleasant experience, a system which forces you to kill your self is a bit silly to say the least.

Ok so have you got anything to say on the subject like how god dam enoying it is to have to kill your self to remove a jump clone, according to the new insurance system, i don't think jump clones will be all that usefull any more, yea they will be great for jumping massive distances but e will never loose implants again :)
Any way i still want a 'Delete Jump Clone' Button besite every clone I own, and a little warning message "IF" the clone has implants.
