It means we don't have an exact date yet, but it will be in the winter and maybe as early as December.
I would also expect some more solid details to be released at Eve Downunder or there abouts.

Right because Winter 2015 realistically mean December update? Otherwise it's in 2016... Or they are throwing an arbitrary date out there. |

No, doesn't necessarily mean the December release.
It's winter 2015 because the season starts in December. But the release of the ships can be anytime from December to February.
With the recent changes to the release cadence (still every 5 weeks odd, but smaller stuff being released when it is ready and major expansions coming back), they could more or less be released at anytime CCP have the development work finished, but I suspect they'll be tied into a specific release.

Historically, CCP does winter releases in December or early January. Spring in March, and Summer as early as May.

First day of winter is dec 22nd.
So if the phraseology was "Winter 2015", that means between December 22nd- December 31st, for the remainder of winter that comes on and after Jan 1st would be 2016.
So if they don't provide the content before 2016, they're dirty liars. |
