Why CCP dont just make you choose a single char from your 3 and that is it, done, dusted, that is your forum account, never to be changed. At least then ppl who lack the balls/spine/cahoonas to post with their main will have to pay CCP for an extra account to troll/flame with.
You ban NPC corp posting in Corp and Alliance, then allow blatant alt made player corps to invade instead. End this insanity, one character per account may post. You wanna troll and flame with immunity? That will be an extra 7 pounds a month Sir ;)
Carlsberg dont make Eve Pilots, but if they did, i wouldnt be one of them.

It's what you say thats important (actually not, it's just a game ffs), not the character that says it.

Biggest reason i post with an alt is that I reveal details of my activities. Why am I worried about that?
*not* because I'm scared someone on the forum will track me down and fight me because of my opinion,, but because my opinions etc. dont represent my corp, and could also give away details about my corp.
For instance, someone wants to rant and rave "blah blah you know nothing about 0.0 because you havent posted anything about it"
Counter? I rat and mine in venal. Done. Now, *who* do i do it for? that's the important part i wont reveal. I could be Toxin, D2, MM, anybody. Not gonna put my corpies at risk like that.
Do i post in alliance and corp? Nope. My allegiances have the appropriate voice.

Unless you have the brass to post with your 0.0 mining venalian main, then you should keep your opinions to yourself quite frankly. Some corp ban their members from posting, which is where some alts are born. If you dont like being censored by your corp, then leave. If you feel that something you are saying might have a negative impact on your corp, then stay out of it. It is not rocket science (which I have to lvl4) ;)

Nope, but they will have to PAY for that privilage (did you read my post)
It would not STOP alt posting, but it would cut the current trend of 'make an alt, make an alt corp, spam the forum'

Seriously though, why not. It is a world in which you can hide your face. Alt's are fine to post with in my book. If you don't like it... well, you can have your opinions, but i sure as hell ain't gonna listen to it. It is unfounded and sounds like a paranoia whine.

wtf has it got to do with you who posts with what character about any issue at all? It's truely none of your business and I have no idea why you care. Only the role-play forums require it and that only because of past alt-based flame-fests.

Alts cause a lot of trouble in all sorts of ways, as everyone knows.
I could care less about forum alts though.

^^ Alts in-game suck, if i'm scouting it's with my main, so if someone wants to groan about me not having brass balls, they know now.
My corp *doesnt* censor me from posting with my main, and tbh if they did I'd tell them where to go. I know i *dont* post with my alt, but it's the principle in the corp thinking they have some power over me when they are just another player.
Probably one big reason I *dont* post with my main is because of alts themselves. I invest time and money into my main, and while I would welcome anyone hunting down my main, I *dont* want my main to be spammed to death and essentially made unplayable by some nobber with too much time on their hands and slightly less braincells than your average eggplant.

Unless you got the brass to man up with me face to face in the octogon to voice your opinion then you should keep your opinion to yourself quite frankly. What is your name in real life necormonian? So your using an alt as well get over it, and stop pretending your some big bad e-thug people are worried about having retribution inflicted by for a post.
This was my original character and after readng forums I had choosen a very poor path to start stat wise so I re-rolled to what is my main, and I never bothered to figure out how to change who i post with because frankly I couldnt care less unless you wanna talk to me face to face

I REALLY do not see the point in alts at all.
I mean, what person is gonna hunt you down over a forum post? I imagine that people who might actually be dangerous have more common sense than that.

While there are debates where it is fair to call for people mains - or at least where it makes a difference who they are in game in terms of allegiance and opinions on matters of political or economic nature - I also increasingly see the "Post with your main" from people that are getting owned on the actual content of a debate - several times on subjects that have little to no relation to who people are in game.
(Exactly why is the corp affiliation important because you disagree over the choice of graphics card or what have you?)
Don't forget that alts are also often the key to information that would not find its way out to the public if only peoples main characters could play. And we need rumour and speculation all mixed up with real or made up information. Eve needs its scandals too. :)

Clarification: by hunt down i mean in-game, not any rl bs.
As for 'common sense', I generally dont expect it from anybody these days. Good example? Someone *****ed down a friends seahorse website. a SEA HORSE website, just a little home job with some text and pictures. Who the **** is bored enough to do that?
With that in mind, I dont think it's much of a leap in assumption to say somebody wouldnt create heaps of alts using the 14-day trial just to spam someone to death (even knew someone using them just for the 30k starting cash or whatever you get,,, they were a total noob tho)

Don't have to limit 'alt posting', just link their other two characters to their forum info.
If someone clicks my pic they'd see the 0-2 other chars on my account. If people use other accounts then so be it, but you'll know who that account is to some extent.

This would be SOOOO nice. No more needing to ask for screen shots of char selection screen for ceo's/alliance VIPs. Just check em out on the forums (which most ppl do anyways)
