I am a great fan of beer.
There is such a lot of good diffrent beers around. Though I favor the belgian beers.
My favourites are Leffe Brun and Orval. Both of which are more special beers not really meant to be drunk in clubs and such.
For pilsners I love Grolsch and Jupiler.

Unfortunately it's a tie between Black Sambucca on the rocks and Black Russians, being vodka and khalua.
The big finger to anyone out there who thinks it's vodka, khalua and *COKE*, or worse yet, vodka and coke! I *know* you americans have it right coz thats where I learnt what a real black russian is. Shamefully, my fellow australians dont see things this way,, the amount of ***** looks i get from bartenders when I ask for a Black Russian with no coke!

Presuming you don't want us to say something dull like "beer" or "wine"......
I've got a taste these days for whiskey (Scotch for preference) and Ginger Beer (thats Ginger Beer, not Ginger Ale, Ginger Beer). About a bar double measure of whiskey to about 150 ml of Ginger Beer.
On a related note, I home brew my own alcohol as a bit of a hobby, and stumbled accross quite a good one just recently. I brewed a straight mead (very dry) and it'd been maturing in the bottle for about 18 months now (could probably do with longer, but meh, its Xmas). Over Xmas I opened a bottle and mulled it with cinnamon and clove, adding some honey to sweeten. Was bloody brilliant. Bloody strong too- somewhere in the upper teens % vol, I think.
Other of my year's brews have been an Apple and Pineapple wine (good, in a kind of girly way), Elderflower wine (very good), Orange and Grapefruit wine (alright, if you like your wines bitter like a grapefruit) and Tomato wine (vile, evil, despicable stuff; had to be tried though). Shame is I'll never be able to do them exactly the same again

There's some fine answers here, but tbh you can't beet a good cup of tea:
morning = tea
afternoon = tea
back from a big night out and really drunk = tea
thirsty = tea
cold = tea
in shock = tea
tired = tea
after a big meal = tea
English breakfast tea, earl grey, green tea, mint tea whatever depends on your mood. Hot water + leaves = win :)
Alcohol a nice Rioja is good for red, a decent chablis for white. Or Cab sauv from aus and sauv blanc from new zeland for new world stuff.
A nice strong belgian beer is good for sleeping :)
beer blanche has a great, unique taste.
A simple larger is fine if your hot and thirsty.
Can't handle spirits anymore, too many mucky pints (as in a pint/half of mixed spirits) when I was at uni

Aside from some minor typos, I couldn't have put it better myself -- although a steaming mug of sweet masala tea on a cold day is also rather special.

Couldn't aggree more, though. If you offered me a pint of fine ale, a whiskey*****tail or a nice cup of Yourkshire Gold tea.........I think you know what I'd pick. No contest
Anyone here ever try Lady Grey tea? I had it for the first time a couple of days ago. Was quite nice. Like a fruity Earl Grey.

Aye I'd go along with the Tea brigade. Nothing beats a warm cuppa, also anyone who drinks coffee is quite clearly ghey or a yuppie (although I am quite partial to a black coffee if I'm stuck in town and theres a starbucks nearby).
If its alcoholic Peroni is the king of lagers but hard to get in pubs so I'll usually go for whatever sounds the nicest and isn't stella or fosters. Im also partial to the occasional Pitcher of good ale if thats available. When it comes to spirits has to be whiskey.
Bloody hell I sound posh as you like.

my white russians got dubbed Petrol by my mates, but they were made by the pint.
half a pint of vodka, 1/3 a pint of Kalur and then top up with milk. Then drink it fast before the milk curdles.
Most people can't stand after 2 of these.
Other then that Guiness, Vodka and cola, and when I'm not on the booze it has to be cola.

Black russian, the same as a white one but without the milk/cream and other non alcoholic stuff.
Other then that I'm addicted to smoothies and fruitjuices, they can give you so much energy and you get a good dosis of fruit if you make them yourself. My best buy of 2006 was a blender. If you want to get more energy and eat more fruit get a blender and mix yourself some nice juices or smoothies. If you are addicted to sugar just add a banana in the mix for sweetness.

You, my lady, have not tried Lapsang Souchong tea. That will get you going in the morning. My personal favorite brand of Lapsang can be bought in a store in Iceland called Pipar & Salt, to be found on Klapparstfg (the same street as the old CCP HQ) but on the other side of Laugarvegur.
