Im wondering how many people have gone down the route of being totally impotent in the ship flying area...
As of now I have Gallente Industrial 4 (going to 5, woo!) and Gallente Frigate 3. I can only fly the ships that fall under the aegis of gallente frigate and industrial. No cruisers, no battleships. Its working just fine for me too!
Id like to know if there is any other person in this game who is going down that route. Im sacraficing my PvP skills in order to catch up to the people who have maxed their production skills and moved on to other things...nearly 5 mil sp and I can't even fly a cruiser. It makes people laugh every time i say it.
Teehee.

I think that's just fine. A friend of mine cannot even fly a higher level frigate! She has about a mill skillpoints "only" though, but she wants to take the research approach to this game and is perfectly happy in her little shuttle and lots of blueprints :)

Hmmm, I'm in a slightly different position. I can (and regularly do) fly a cruiser, but I've avoided buying/training the battleship skill for a while now. Will do it eventually, but getting into a battleship just isn't a priority for me.
Besides, I want to be able to pilot an Iteron V first

Edited by: Genavaitie Taanat on 30/11/2003 11:14:31 Edited by: Genavaitie Taanat on 30/11/2003 11:14:23 2.8M skillpoint Gallente Industrial at 5 and Frigate at 3(or something, can't remember really). :) I only fly my Iterion mark V, all of my skill points have gone in to Navigation and Learning skills so far... Maybe ill get a cruiser or something later, so I can mine for myself when my lazy-ass corpmates won't mine with me. ;)

Totally agree.
having a BS is hard work. 20-30mill insurance.
If u dont need it, dont get it.
I know some good fighters that have loads of ISK, but have no intention of ever flying a BS.

6.2 mill skill points and i would be able to fly a titan if the ship/skill came out and use jump engines, but they aint ingame yet so i guess i wasted my time for now
Can only pilot amarr ships though as they are the best, theres no point in training other skills for other races ships as they are all rubbish (especially minmatar ships)

The really really sad thing is that your friend is scuppered.. To do any advanced research CCP seems to think you need to be able to shoot things up to please your research agent! |

... Something tells me PIE military commander might not be the only person weeping over tiny size of the turret you can operate, Mr.Hardin... o.o;

I have an alt who can fly megathrons but has the same gunnery skills he started with... nothing quite like scaring the hell out of a cruiser pirate only for him to find out 10 minutes later that I didnt stand a chance ------------------

well, his small-bore turret proved not to be such a big issue, after he demonstrated that his tracking was more than adequate.

You are making fun of Hardin's 'small turrets' and he will probably be offended.

It's not the size of your turret that counts it's the motion of the MWD.

Edited by: Lansfear on 01/12/2003 03:04:13 I took the exact opposite path. I wanted to be a hired pilot so i trained all races frigates, cruisers, indys and two bs(gal and cald). Later to find out people will hire you, but wont provide the means. Sorry, but i'll risk my clone to work for ya, but you will have to risk the ship.
Had to edit. Also trust seems to be the biggest issue in this game.

Ive put off Cruisers to give myself something to look forward to later. I can fly all races frigates, and a Bestower, but thats about it. And my combat skills are pretty lame. This after about 3 months and ~3.3 million skill points.

Well, I've got 5.67m skill points. I can fly all Minmatar and all Caldari ships. Sitting in front of my 1400s isn't recommended.
And yet, I can also manufacture with the best of them. I can refine pretty damn good. Prepping for the upcoming TL2 stuff only requires a little bit of training, mostly just Science 5. There are still a few levels of Gunnery skills left. A couple bits of Navigation skills. And Electronics looks utter barren with a bunch of lvl 1 skills, except Electronics 5.
I'm of the feeling that a well rounded character has more options in more situations than a specialist. My attributes reflect that with Per, Will and Mem being equal. With Int -1 below them.
I mean its like you want corporations to oblige each other like its sex or something. Pffft I would rather **** my enemy.- Rohann

Well...I fly an Omen right now, but I can only fly Amarr ships. I still have no plans regarding a BB. It's expensive to buy, insure and loose. Being a solitary and irregular player, I cannot afford the loss of a BB. At least I will buy a Maller as secondary ship. But not before end of week. If you got one, please make offer (\_/) (O.o) (> <)=Oveur (proof) "Jumping 50 systems I can like, have sex 150 times during that period" |
