Ok before everyone gets ready to flame, hear me out on this.
Kill rights seem to make little to no sense really. If I kill you in a .3 system you are now free to come and hit me up no matter the sec system I'm in. Now I know this sounds liek whining, but the fact that a person risks being in low sec to get the kill, why should Kill rights put me in danger in secure space?
There's a little something wrong when i risk life and limb to take someone out and he doesnt have to risk much in order to take me out in return.
Now, call me a whiner if you will, but try and be positive with your feedback on this post. I've seen how people get flamed for making posts about something they think is wrong or that can be fixed with the game and its totally counterproductive....so any feedback you have, please try and refrain from the "OMFGWTFZ0RRRRR YOU DONT LIKE EVE, THEN DONT PLAY IT" posts. If you don't agree with me to the point where anything you post will display your utter idiocy, then please move on.

Because you attacked the person and broke the law doing so. It's rather simple.

It helps against you owning someone when they're in their shuttle, then running away whilst they try to get retribution in their BS I guess.....

Okay, here it comes: I call you a whiner. (SCNR)
LowSec is not NulSec. It is still empire and Concord keeps track of your actions. For free action, leave empire space. --*=*=*--
The cause for this is not yet known, but we do have a possible fix in testing. by Sharkbait | 2006.09.20 |

I'm not going to call you a whiner. You kill some one in an unproked atck you have labled yourself as pirate and an outlaw. By all means the victim should be able to atck you anywhere anytime. Remember you created the situation for yourself you want to lie in wait to prey unpon unsupecting victims then accept all that goes with it. The life of crime should not be easy. A criminal should be worried. This is more realistic. The idea I killed you in the bad guys area that makes it ok for me to roam without worry elsewhere. Not realistic.

You broke the law. Just cause police couldn't catch you at the scene of the crime, doesn't mean you are not responsible for breaking the law. And since the police is too busy to track you everywhere you go, they just give the victim the authorization to deal with you in Empire

The key word here is "Sec". While it might not be HiSec, LoSec is still secured empire space. While concord might not react to your actions while you are at that location, they still mark those actions.
Killing someone in 0.3 is not risking life-and-limb. Doing so in 0.5+ most definately is... well, risking ship at any rate. If you want to avoid any Empire "record", don't kill in 0.1+ space, go to 0.0.
Likewise, if you don't want to get smeared in 0.5+ by your latest victim, don't stupidly flee there for 15mins after your kill.
Simple.

I've only ever run into someone on my killrights list once, and even then under the circumstances any one could have fired on me due to my security status. Personally I think killrights are only useful to Empire dwellers that get suicide ganked at a gate, and want to come back with a new ship to get revenge.

They get Killrights because the killers usually *don't* risk life and limb to get the kill. The killers usually go for the near risk-free kills. That's why.
If the killers did risk life and limb, killrights would probably be a big deterrent to them, practice shows that the deterring effect of Killrights is close to zero though.

TBH, I think kill rights should have some sort of a tracking system on it. This would allow individuals to keep tabs on their killers. To counter-act this however, the time that the kill rights are active should be reduced. _______________________________________________

You did the crime...face the consequense, maybe it will be fun
I have been thinking alot lately about the bountyhunter profession...woul it not be a good idea if you could seel off your killrights, like a contract...someone kills you and you put the kllrights up for grabs...throwing some isk in, and boutyhunters could have a profession.
I once had a sig...it deleted
