Edited by: Jehovah Cooper on 06/01/2007 06:43:43 I too am proud of Eve Uni in my corp history. I had someone once poke fun at me for staying in "n00b" university for 2 whole months. I could only laugh at him - that two months was better for me than anything else I can imagine doing and I still appreciate the friendships I formed there. It was some great fun and I learned something new every day and I wish everyone I fly with had got the same good trainings in fundamentals that we get in the Uni. I don't think I'd still be playing Eve if I had not found E-UNI when I did.
Give them and all the future suckers who war-dec you hell! :)

While we were sitting in the Amarr system tonight, after chasing some of Multiversal again, they were on the other side, in Sarum Prime smack talking us. A very nice person gave us what they were saying in local.

Apparently they expect us, the 'Noobs' to blindly rush in, sit where their snipers can pick off our frigs and smaller ships when we can't respond. Meanwhile, we were using certain assets to try and get into position to engage them. Clearly they'd prefer us to simply be targets for them to gun down with no risk to themselves. They war decced us, and too bad for them, we're playing to win.

AFAIK, Eve University has put a hold on new applications for the duration of the war. (But I can't adequately guess as to all of the whys except that it seems to be the usual stance during wartime.)
But you're always welcome to come visit the "Eve University" channel and ask rookie questions there. It may be a bit quiet during wartime as we're concentrating on other chat channels and staying abreast of the tactical/strategic situation.

No, they will : - hide, - stay camped in stations, - jump clone, - cloak, - snipe you, - get assisted with remote systems by third parties, - spy you with non war dec alts, - run when u got them cornered, dock and smack talk u in local...
If not, they will wait for situations where they gank you 3 to 1, 3 t2 ships vs haulers, mining barges... easy targets anyway. The smart ones always engage on their terms.

Much love to E-Uni.
I'm very proud to have flown under the banner of the finest newb corp in Eve and happy to see that they continue to put up the goods when bad guys come knocking.
My first ever killmail was of some ridiculous t2 ship (maybe a command ship?) with my final blow coming from a punisher. So good.
The thing that people who dec the university often fail to take into account is that a lot of people who are in the Uni want to be uber PVP'ers one day. So when an experienced instructor gets them together and says "hey if a bunch of us team up, we can take down characters 2-3 years older than ourselves..." there is a lot of excitement.
One of the best things about Eve IMO is that gangs of newbs can take down much older players.
Give 'em hell guys.

Honestly, if they were any good, they would be able to find ways to counter a bunch of mainly t1 frigates. The problem is, that even when you can do this, there is still a risk of losing your ships. Being outnumbered 4-1 doesn't necessarily mean you'll lose, I've experienced winning while being outnumbered 3-4 to one against people who weren't noobs. I have also died horribly attempting it, but it was all good fun, and that's what eve's about in the end. I guarantee that you'll have a lot more fun doing crazy **** in pvp, than you would ganking solo haulers in jita. You'll probably die a few times, but I really don't mind dying as long as it's fun and you go down fighting EDIT: this was not aimed directly at the person I quoted and more at the so-called pirates without the balls to engage without a 100% chance to win

Having flown with them i know exactly what you guys are in for, the exact thing you seen in that chat. Nothing but jerks who find it funny to throw around their deep wallets, which is questionable in how they have them. And make eve nothing but a pain for those they fly with/against.
I hope to see Eve-uni womp them. Good luck and may the killmails be with you.
Truth. TEGL are former IO, and as such have had to deal with these bunch of clowns as their former leading officers. They are nothing, blow up a few of their ebay'd tech II cruisers and they'll retract.

E-UNI FTW!
E-Uni doesn't teach the students how to fight fair. Wars aren't fair. One fights to win. Those guys didn't think it through. E-Uni isn't just a bunch a noobs. It's a school. The instructors and leaders aren't noobs, and they're training new pilots. Eager pilots. Bloodthirsty pilots. Pilots that follow instructions and apply their new knowledge. They kill on their own terms, like any good fighting force.
Keep this in mind if you're ever thinking of attacking E-Uni.

Good day.
During a recent Ivy League fleet op, I took several screenshots. I've narrowed those down to what I consider the best of the lot, and Silentbrick has kindly given me permission to post them in this thread along with a breif commentary on what was going on at approximately that time, to give our readers a look at how this war is being fought.
We started off from our staging point near enemy territory with a smallish force. Our objective: pursue a hostile spotted nearby. Our fleet assembled and demonstrated an excellent grasp of gang warping.
http://img176.imageshack.us/img176/2390/gangwarp1lq6.jpg
When that proved fruitless after a number of jumps, we instead decided to escort a few E-Uni miners and non-combat pilots out of Korsiki and into a safer system held by fellow alliance members, the Legion of Lost Souls.
http://img151.imageshack.us/my.php?image=convoy3aq9.jpg
That done, we hatched a bold plan. As our enemies were entering their more active hours, we decided to return to one of their systems and draw them out as they logged on. Among many exhillerating exercises in waiting was this gatecamp:
http://img136.imageshack.us/my.php?image=gatecampro7.jpg
If you look carefully, you may see my Thorax attempting to ram a scout alt. =D
But alas, the fish weren't biting. After a single kill at a station camp and an attempted logoffski, we decided to call it a night. --- "I am a leaf on the wind. Watch how I soar." |

What this shows is you kill slightly more ships per day, but you lose much more ISK.
ISK value of 5 frigates < 1 BS/1BC/1 T2 frig.
Infact, the loss of 20 frigates is roughly the loss of a BC, the loss of 90 frigates is about a half decently fitted 2nd tier BS, when the some of the frigates are well fitted.

So, in exchange for losing 3 bs and 5 tech 2 frigates, some of the above mentioned being faction fitted: http://www.multiversal.griefwatch.net/index.php?p=details&kill=400
You have managed to kill a few tech 1 cruisers, a bunch of frigs, and a mining barge. Epic. You should make this one into a campaign so it's easier to see your complete pwnage of the enemy.

We're quite happy you guys got so fired up with some rather ordinary smack, you took the bait and got all fired up about coming after us. And honestly the hope is that you continue as you've been doing. We're having quite an enjoyable time so far.
But I just want to clear up one point. We actually did our research on you guys before the war. You're providing exactly the fight we hoped for, which is meant as a compliment.

I agree Completely but I do find it amazing how so many people rush to Eve _uni's defense just to smack talk us when the majority of us you have never met or even seen, but that is the way of Forums and that is the way of the game of Eve everyone has an opinion wether it's relevant or not.
I'm not here to brag or even gloat I play the game to have fun and so far you guys have been fun that is what it's about right? although I admit their are a plenty of person's in this game that terribly need to step away for a month or 2, but doesn't matter either way, what you play, you will always have fanatics...lol.
Wich is why I don't troll these boards I have better time than to deal with the Immaturaty of others and their pathetic responses to matters that don't even involve them......such is life.
So Compliments to Eve_Uni for giving us a fight that we enjoy and as for everyone else well you can all just bugger off for all I care! grr another reason I hate these boards Main Cezzec!

This SOOO reminds me of Ultima Online. If you used a Potion (such as heal) during a 1v1 you were reamed for it by your opponent.
I find this funny because both ECM and Potions (in uo) are part of the game (not a silly "creative use of game mechanics"). Deal with it.
