My small scale trading operation met a sticky end, any thoughts on evading a bubble gate gank?

Not that I have any actual experience of this but I can recite the highlights I've picked up by reading these forums and talking to people who have been there:
Use the map, check number of ships killed, number of pilots in space, number of pods killed. etc. in the system you are going to in the next jump.
Before approaching a gate I would suggest warping to something close by (planet or asteroid belt. Avoid moons as people have a habit of putting up POS's there whith lot's of guns) and use the directional scanner to verify that the gate is clear. IE. no scouts etc.
Fit an MWD, point you ship twoards a stellar object that will get you away from the bubble quickly. Use the mwd in a single burst then just when you clear the bubble and the meter has started ticking down to normal speed, warp to the object, you will almost instawarp with this technuiqe. Then quickly warp to another planet, belt, moon, base..
Don't warp to zero, pick random distances to warp to so that if they are using interceptors etc, the chance of them landing ontop of you will be decreased.
Don't bother with stabs, if they mannage to scram you, odds are you have more points on you than you have low slots to fit stabs in. Use Nanos instead as it will allow you to enter warp faster.
But bear in mind, the gatecampers are putting as much effort into making sure that you DON't get away so there is no "good odds" way other than plotting courses around hotspots and blobs and even that isn't even close 100%.
My Master plan: 1. Become pirate 2. Camp the EVE gate 3. .... eh.? |

Scouts. #1 thing needed when moving through hostile territory. As stated before, have someone (doesn't have to be a big ship, frigate will do) goto a planet near the next game and scan the game. If it's too hostile wait around at an SS for a while.
Nanos are also good. Equip. ---

ctrl-Q right when you enter the bubble without any agression.. It is the hip new thing all the cool kids do. Then come back with an alt to see if it is safe. If you can't beat the log off tactic, do it yourself and encourage everyone else to log off in combat in order to **** off the entire community so quick changes can be made.

Bring an alt along in noobship. Put it through before your main goes in. If you pass though certain system that is camped all the time, just make the alt live in the system and turn it on every time you need to travel.

- have a scout - have lots of friends - have a scoutspot NOT on grid to scan before you warp to the gate - have an in-grid spot to the side of the gate at some range (enough not to run into trouble so 300ish would be good), if they put the bubble in line with another gate and not ON the gate you can then warp at 0 and get out. - use a covops - go around - try to get info on the campers so you'll know when they wpropbably won't be there and plan your trip then.

I think you've all misunderstood me...
I was ganked having stargated into a system not on my way out of one. Next time I'll try and MWD it to the gate rather than out of the mobile warp disruptor field.

fit inertia stabilizers + your ship sized mwd II, and reapproach the gate.
example: myrmidon. 10mn mwd II, 4x Ecm Bursts.. 6 Alpha Hull Mos Inertia Stabs.
Inties have to be lucky to catch ya.,,.,.
thats what im doing..
pretty good alternative to logoffski...

use the map, look for pilots in system, and deaths in last hour, if deaths is 5+, and pilots is 20, then its probably a gate camp.
look for the spy in the preceding system, gate campers have the problem of getting jumped too, so will often have a scout in the preceding system. sometimes just an inocuous alt in a shuttle, in scan range, so just because its not hostile, doesnt mean its not scanning the gate.
seriously though, use a scout in a ceptor or somthing to jump through first, if its camped, get your main safe, and your scout to either get safe there if he can, or mwd back to the gate and jump out.
(the logoff thing is for losers)

Wouldn't the ECM bursts stop you from using the gate because of agression?
