Quote: Edited by: Hanns on 04/12/2003 00:48:00 So did i train signature analysis lvl 5 for nothing? christ, the current 6 second lock time on my scorp is long enough, now you want to make it longer? im all for making other ships usefull in the game but this is the WRONG way to go about it!
and what about NPC's yeah they lock you in like 1 second, so my frikking scorp gotta sit there for near 20 frikking seconds taking a pounding from a jug spawn untill i can even fire back! ROFL your insane!
numbers haven't been finalised yet, Hanns. I would imagine (from dev posts) that they will be reduced quite a bit from the chaos build as I write. And your skills will still give you the same benefit, just under a slightly different name. same with sensor damps/boosters.
NPC insta targetting was part of a remedy to an old problem that was never removed, but now will be removed. .

Quote: im really not liking the idea of this new targeting stuff. i mean...it takes me about 30 seconds in my raven to lock a can. it doesnt really make sense...unless they come out with skills for like bs vs. bs targeting etc. i dont think this is gonna be a very good patch for me =(
bs vs bs at today's settings is about 10 seconds, base.
But these numbers are going to change, it's only just arrived on chaos.
There are a lot of people testing this, and hopefully, between us all, we can help make it better for everyone.
you'll still be able to cut the final targetting time time with sensor boosters, too. .

Ninja Panda, have you even *tried* these new changes on chaos? Or are you just complaining because you misinterpreted what you read?
Check the JIP thread (sticky) in Patch Review.
Check the speed changes thread.
And maybe reread this one.
All these things are happening together. .
