Imagine you're in a big ass blob, 60+ ships, and encounter a small roaming gang, they would be toast! Right?
But instead! The FC commands: "LOGOFFSKI!"
60+ ships disappearing in an instant.
And small roaming gang sitting with things in their pants they cannot describe, thinking: "HOo... sh.. "
Then you logon a scout, so they're safely away, and continue your journey!

I don't get the point of the post. You are a 60 man gang vs. a small gang, and u guys avoid them by logging off?

Edited by: Plutoinum on 10/01/2007 20:41:57 Ganked a hurricane pilot today, who jumped into our dictor bubble and after that we killed also his POD. He had all the time in the world to log. I was like wtf ... It seemed so unreal. It's as common as a faction spawn when ratting. If he would have been still in local, I would have told him how much I respected his decision, but getting podded and staying in local doesn't work in most cases.
Btw it wasn't meant as a joke. I think usually more pvp'ers log than so called 'carebears', because those pvp'ers know exactly what they do. PvP'ers, who are hopelessly outnumbered, outgunned and in an interdictor bubble and don't log to safe at least their pod become rarer and rarer.
CTD/con-loss vs. log-out. A proposal for a fix. |

i am waiting for some eve chronicles to come out that'll try to explain the "logoffski" phenomena. us role players really need some lore to backup this problem. ---- Would you like some cries with your whaaamburger? |

Want a curious information? I am a "carebear", but if I am caught I don't logg off, even if I perfectly know that I am ougunned and I have all the time to do it.
Funt to see that most PvP are so afraid to lose the ship to use it as a standard tactic.

Well it's all very simple to see that these pilots have found the secret of time travel. A pilot completely disappears from the universe only to reappear at the exact same spot at a later time. That wasn't a Capacitor Flux Coil you scanned on his ship, it was a Flux Capacitor.

You could easily explain the warping out of bubbles phenomena as some sort of Jovian thing. I know I read one EVE chronicle that made it look like the Jovians are controlling some pod pilots. Perhaps they needed this particular one to survive a bit longer for some reason.
Or perhaps it's a natural phenomenon, like superstrings or the inherent instability of warp bubbles sometimes causing the opposite effect. This knocks the pod pilot out for a time (until he logs back in.)
To be honest, it's never occurred to me to log off in a fight. And I've lost many. It's just a game. Why would I not be able to buy another ship? I'd like some sort of punishment for people who log off, but it would really suck to be punished for a real CTD. Perhaps this is something that will never be solved. <img src="http://sigs.griefwatch.net/phpbbsig.php/xelas/icarus/Esau+Cairn.jpg" border="0" /> |

Haha, oh god that was hilarious. We told him to go back to empire via LXQP, and he somehow decided to turn around and jump into L4X again (after we left 30 seconds earlier).
In his defense, he did just start PvPing a few days ago. But honestly I was expecting him to navigate 2 jumps without mental breakdowns.

Bah,
Everyone fail at understanding this post,
it was my idea of using logoffski for something funny.
The comical value of a blob logging off to run away from the small gang.
It was supposed to be a comical view of logoffski tactics.
And you all came in and ruined it.
BAH! Damn you grey people.
