After spending a few hours on Chaos today (Dec 09, 03) and testing the Gate to warping, 20Km , 30Km, 40km option, the Bookmark warping, and Base Warping, and the new AB and MWDs I've seen that my travel abilities in Eve are so nerfed that I felt the need to Cancelled both my Subscriptions to Eve. Eve is enough waist of ones life, to twiddle my thumbs while I impulse my throax with 2 MWD at a whopping 300m/s is just to much waist of time. Forget it if youÆre a Freelancer and want to bring up a Indy load of bistot.
Your gonna need to fit into a Socialistic Icelandic mind set and become a slave to a Corp to have any future in the Eve Universe. For without body guards you'll never get that load of Bistot to a refinery with the currently tested Warp to options.
I think that I'm not alone in wanting a sim that will let me quickly dock, quickly get the ore from my can, quickly gate to another system. (If I'm willing to take the time to setup Nav Bookmarks). With the new Warping To set up.. BookMarking Tainers, Gates, Bases has been made useless as you will be 20KM from the point you wanted to be. Such has been my testing experience
Even if you BM a point 20KM pass the spot you want to stop at - You still must Impulse for up to 2 minutes to get where you want to be (AB & MWD are nerfed also).
Yes the Old speed enhancements from a MWD on my thorax is also so nerved Eve has become more of Space Impulse Travel Sim as you wait up to 2 minutes to cover that 18 KM. I had to be within 2Km of Gate before I got the Jump option.
An Indy ship wanting to haul some bistot from Deep space will be pirate fodder. Your not gonna get 1500 m/s on a Indy now with the new MWDs. They might as well just remove the Places tab in the P&P window. It also will lag your system if you have several Bookmarks. The Client freezes while the places tab opens, the client froze for 15 sec for each BM I tried to delete.
I lost a BlackBird next to the fight club when a group I had not consented with, attacked me. My system was stuck loading the P&P screen. The P&P screen also is doing that sudden Corp Member listing which causes the client to lockup. Yet others can shoot you into space dust while you wait for that screen to load or while you try to get the Gate Jump option.
I hate to leave after spending so much time since the March Beta 2 Era. Some will say "Good Bye", some will think, "quitters never win". Others will think "your lost you whiner." How many will consider that If Gwildee is leaving EVE, how many others will get discussed / tired?
If Eve does not cater to the average players you will end up with few players and CCP will be forced to cut wages to the Dev's and Eve will go down as a Great Sim that could not sustain it's player base. The Dev's don't make Eve possible it's the Subscribers that do. We did not hit 10K online at one time.. We have lost tons of good players. Why? Because Eve is more Work then Play. Work in Roid fields to Mine. Work to afford Insurance (that runs out). And now were asked to peddle very fast while you twiddle your thumbs trying to get to a gate.
I hoped Eve would be a Success, I wanted Eve to be a success and I have tried to make it so by offering my objective analysis of the purposed changes. For some reason the Dev's seem bent on catering to one problem and fail to see how much their slight change effects other areas of game play. It is a GAME and please try to remember that while you try to make it so real it no longer is a game / simulator.
Maybe I'll return. I hope I find a reason to return to the Eve players. EnB is looking better in playability all the time.
