My hats off to those of you who are supposedly assisting my alliance it our war in I-N. In my short time in 0.0 14 Ravens being sold on our local market in units of 1.
I know for a fact that NO ONE is manufacturing during this time of war, logical assumption. As Maelstrom Prime has only 2 manf slots and the wait period is very long to get an open slot. No one is manfucaturing at any pos's. So the only logical explaination is that some people, either in our Alliance or some of those helping us, are steeling our ships, docking and putting them up for sale.
Good work, scum bag/s. *iss off. _______________________________________________ My sig pwns all, but you can't view it here! :P _______________________________________________ http://www.restoremyhome.com/1zd2.gif |

Maybe your allies are bringing in ships for you and putting them up for sale in your station?
Either way still not forum worthy

Considering only you and your allies can dock isnt this actually a good thing? More ships = being able to defend more. -----

I've always seen messing the market as a vital part to any prolonged territorial combat. Especially ammunition and POS fuels are good for that and the benefit of stripping market empty from those should be very obvious.

While there's no way to prove the presence of friendly profiteers bar buying the ships.
What I¦d do if I knew I was going to attack a sys is buy stuff in that station, docked or not, then wait until the attack starts and sell said ships for big markups.
If I had any ISK that is.

well en empty market is probably the worst you can get during times of war. even an expensive, but full market will help you and your your allies dock, refit, change ships no?
been doing that in unity when they were sieged, had some "thank you" messages, i would have been shocked to be yelled at for trying to help ??? you imagine the danger to bring stuff in a sieged place?
i might really misunderstand the op, i dont get the problem. if i misunderstood, my apologizes

Sicariidae, a few points
First, I think you are misreading this situation at Maelstrom Prime. I'm in I-N right now and I can see 13 Retrievers have gone on sale in the last 6 days as well. Funnily enough, they don't seem to be selling as well as the Ravens. Why would a war profiteer be selling mining barges in your station? This flurry of market activity is at least partially because people who have assets in the station are concerned that their docking rights will be lost soon and they want to liquidise their assets. The only reason the Ravens are selling is because people in Maelstrom who are dedicated to their alliance are going down fighting.
Second, the reason that some Maelstrom ships have gone missing from POS is due to an odd bug which is happening with POS password. I have personally moved some of Maelstrom's ships from a POS which is about to go down to a POS which is still safe. To do this I have to enter the forcefield password of the destination POS. Now when I eject from the ships, it seems that the password on those unmanned ships is reset every DT and also when the server crashed. The ship theoretically "belongs" to a corp outside Maelstrom at this point so needs the password to be set in order to stay inside the shield. This odd bug causes these rescued ships to be flung out of the POS shield a great distance, and the attacking forces have been capitalising on this by destroying some of these ships by simply warping to the POS in a pod, then boarding them. The POS guns do the rest.
Maybe as you accuse, some of the ships have been stolen by supposed allies, but I've seen no evidence of that in system.
Thirdly, I'd say that it's poor form to be accusing people who have been fighting and dying for your alliance, for no recompense of their own, of theft and profiteering. ------------------------------------ Myriad Alliance Vice President

Ok, this as I see it - there's a few scenarios that could explain what's happening
1 - Many people are running scared. We're close to losing the outpost, and if you own multiple ships you're worried about getting them safe, as you can only fly one at a time and don't own any kind of mass transport systems. So you sell everything but a small ship, and head for Empire
2 - There's literally hunderds of free-floating ships over two POS now. Everyone is based out of there, and people are boarding each others' ships. Most are using them for defense, and sometimes they blow up, sometimes they're returned to the POS. Now, even if you have the password in, if you're not in Maelstrom (let's use an LV pilot as an example) when you eject, the POS sees it as an LV ship with no PWD (it's wiped when you eject) and puses it out, well over 100km. TCF (pr other hostile pilot) turns up in a pod, jumps in ship, POS destroys him. Insurance invalidated.
3 - Still lots of free-floating ships, and people are abusing the trust, stealing them, and putting them on the market.
I tihnk all three are happening, and it's no good _

Quote: My hats off to those of you who are supposedly assisting my alliance
Let me re-phrase that comment, as in hind sight you are correct it was poor form.
Any one who is taking ships in I-N that are not thiers and reselling them are scumbags!
I was very ****ed this morning as now I am personally unable to do much of anything to help defend my own space. As I don't have any combat ships left.
Also just to make note, I moved all my ships to 7-1 pos myself inside the bubble last night at 12:30 EST, less then six hours of actual game time later they are were gone. Consequently one of the ship types I lost showed up on market with a contract less then 6 hours old. Pretty suspicious in my opinion.
For future referance to avoid hard feelings and missunderstandings, perhaps a pilot who's going to use a ship that's not there's should check the ships info and see if the ship is named. Like all mine were named, "Sicariidae's Raven or Drake. etc. etc. Common courtesy, take a simple moment and send an evemail. Hey pal borrowed your ship because, bla bla bla!
The ends does not justify the means in any sense becusae people pay to play this game and on top of that people spend alot of time and effort to get expensive ships to use for themselves. So it's very dissrespectful to not give the owner notice.
