My vote:
1st place: Large Ion Blasters. You get that cool buildup/ball of energy at the end of the turrent ... then SHOOM it gets flung at the enemy at high speed. Plus the sound effects for it are awesome.
Loooooooove it. (I actually giggle when I shoot em cuz it is just that cool!)
2nd place: Medium autocannon turrest. They look like super big MG88's when firing. The sound effects are pretty good too but they honestly could use abit more of a bassy runmble.
What are your thoughts guys n gals?

Edited by: Jim McGregor on 11/01/2007 17:58:29 Well, this thread will probably get a lot of "Eve has sound?" replies...
But I think autocannons and artillery could sound a lot cooler than they do at the moment. And those are the only guns I use, so Im not commenting on others.
I would like more BANG effect with artillery and more machine-gun type sound for autocannons. They dont sound dangerous enough. --- Eve Wiki | Eve Tribune | Allakhazam |

Dang you beat me to it ! I was going to say, "huh, you have sound enabled in EVE?" As a missile user, I simply can NOT stand the sounds they make. _ My skills | Mod/Rig stacknerfing explained |

The Gjallarhorn doomsday weapon.
A swarm of one hundred cruiser-sized missiles each of which zips off in a random direction and then explodes with a detonation the size of a large disruptor bubble?

It was the neutraliser "twinkly dust" effect until they changed it out for the same one as the nosferatu's. God only knows why, its had significant tactical advantages since it was easy to miss as it was.

Definitely either EM cruise missile explosions or the sound of a Megapulse Laser charging up. I LOVE those guns.

XL Blasters. A huge ball of hot stuff striking with a flash and a few *****lings of electricity.
And I do like the Gjallarhorn too.
I hate autocannons, both sound and effect. *cha-cha-cha-cha-cha* *ri-ti-ti-ti-ti* Sounds like someone threading a necklace down a paper shredder. ------

Soundwise, I really like the explosive cruise missiles. Why there should be a breathalyzer to login to Eve:

Megapulses have the coolest sound.
Tachs have the coolest look. I mean, it's hard to beat a gun so powerful it throws out a spray of energy behind the barrels as well.

Best weapon effect: the (now-extinct) sound of the Nosferatu. I remember the first time i've heard it, it sent chills down my spine (considering i didn't know what it was).
Unfortunately that sound got removed.

I always thought the NOS effect was pretty cool. And the remote rep ones too (though not really weapons).
Might just be wishful thinking, but t2 medium rails seem to have a slightly different firing effect than the t1s, like the shot starts 50 meters on the other side of the gun. Looks cool.
I just wish the sounds for hybrids got some love. At the very least give 425s some kind of sound that matches the evil eeriness of tachs. God I love the way those sound.
