need tracking disruptor that affects a missle launcher like turrets as defenders are useless any ideas??

Oh btw, if you are good, you can use 1 smartbomb, and if you time it right you can pop torps before they hit ;)

Does anyone knows how much damage is needed to pop a torpedo?
Unfortunately smart bomb defense need low lag.
And if defenders were capable of targeting missiles incomming at any gang member. They would be great.
If brute force doesn't solve your problem.. then you are not using enough!! |

A med smartbomb is enough to pop torps, if you time it right. Defenders are very effective too if you mount them in a rocket launcher.

Defenders are more or less worthless, unless fighting npcs. If target is less than 25 km out, your defenders will never hit the incoming missiles. They always miss on the first approach, then fly 10 km past, turn around and then the missile hits your ship.
Second problem: all defenders you fire home on same missile. So even if you can launch defenders every 3.8 seconds, it doesn't matter if target fires salvoes. He might lose one missile per salvo, if he is long way off but that's it. This also means that 6x rocket launcher with defenders Raven is not immune to missiles.

One or two should work - if you are really close to the raven just turn it on same second you see the graphic dissappear - it will take the torps about 3 - 4 seonds to travel the first 5km so itll kill an entire salvo if youre lucky.

Yes but I was thinking taht using 8 bombs you could remove luck from equation and pretty much completely deny all firepower from a raven! Just hit 1 every secondand half or so. No missiles should be able to hit you.. So not even several ravens could kill you.

So in order to combat missiles some of you suggest to fit a missile-launcher with defender-missiles, which take up a high-slot and potentially decreases my dps, while against turrets, i take up a midslot which in no way whatsoever affects my damage-output.
Nope i suggest having a midslot module that disturbs the missiles ability to lock on the target as it leaves the missile-bay. This results in a decreases of the explosion-radius of the missile (see it as the missile explodes a bit off target and thus you dont get exposed to the complete explosion). Or something along those lines.

If you missed. There is also smartbombs option that still do damage to your enemy. So they are not so bad

so yay! instead of sacrificing my highslot for a missile-launher loaded with worthless missiles i should load my high-slot with a cap-sucking smartbomb with a whooping 5km range (t2 large smartbomb) which only chance of hurting your enemy is if your in a blaster-boat.
Seriously, this game needs a MID-slot module to counter missiles, just like all other EW has it.
