It was sad even before then. Because it's the least in demand basically. Other ores which contain high priority bottleneck minerals for production also yield sufficient isogen for production purposes. And the trit and pyrite also aren't significant enough to give it value.
2 things will help Omber out.
First would be a normalization of ore sizes. There is no good reason for CCP to have maintained the variable ore size, it just adds confusion to the market and people believe that ombers higher individual 'piece' price gives them better profit without realising that 1 piece of omber is the same as 6 pieces of veldespar.
Making this less obfuscated would stop people over-mining it constantly thus keeping the price depressed.
And secondly giving it some additional quantities of some mineral that is actually in demand as a bottleneck. Doesn't need to be huge amounts, but small amounts would give it a useful by-product. |

I had a rough idea about the ABC ores from way back when I was with RAGE and we did mining ops to aquire those and always had some bottlenecks like Mexallon, so something had to be done.
During the nullsec ore revamp I kinda disregarded omber, so up until a few days ago when I was b(w-)aiting for someone in this omber anomaly I was still at the "old" values and wondered why nobody else wanted all that sad omber.
And to make things worse after 4 hours of mining omber I only got 23000 trit, 18000 isogen, and 23000 pyrite :-( speaking of sad values..

No, because omber contains only isogen ...and nothing else(for now).
Kernite contains isogen and mexallon; pyroxeres - nocxium, mexallon and tritanium; omber - isogen and only isogen |
