Hi,
Could anyone give me a good setup for a Raven without using Tech 2 stuff seeing i cant use any yet.
I can use cruise missiles so any help would be great im a bit of a nub when it comes to PvP, or should I just leave the Raven till I have my skills up a bit more.
Thanks
Squiffy

First off.
Raven = not a great PvP ship. Now if you insist in using it (its a great main dmg dealer non the less) get t2 gear. T1 cruise missile is great VS rats. PvP they are not. Go torpedo or t2 cruise missiles. Get t2 tank, t2 BCSs well everything T2 (will cost) but then you are effective.
If you are new to PvP. dont even bother using a BS. all ypu will end up with is seeing your dear ship blown up. (sadly, i did same misstake) begin in say a cruiser, to get the hang of it, then move to BCs (drake is an exelent dmg dealer against cruisers and alike)
Or go for t2 ships (frigates of caldari are exelent, specialy the crow)
Golden rule of EvE and PvP: Dont fly anythign you cant afford to loose, meaing if its destroyed, you can easely replace what was lost.

Something like this maybe:
High: 6x cruiser, 2x heavy nos (if fitting left) Mid: 1x 20km scram, 1x sensor booster, 4x sensor dampners Low: 1x large armor rep, 3x active armor hardeners, 1x what you prefer, maybe fitting if needed, maybe plate, maybe damage control etc.
Doesn't have to cost that much and would be welcome in most gangs. ---------------------------------------- A Guide to Scan Probing in Revelations |

I agree with The Shin. Train your support skills (namely missles and engineering) before moving up to a Raven.

the dampner setup works well in most situations. in gate warefare however where your blob warps right on top of there blob, a good tank works better. 6 cruise missles 2 heavy nosses. X-large shield booster, shield boost amp, 3 invuln fields, large injector 2 BCU's 1 damage control, 2 PDU's
use good named booster, the rest, use the cheapest you can get away with, becuase in those type of fights, if you are going to go down, you are going to go down. You can last a decent amount of time though, and that allowes your gang to have time to figure out options ect.

If you are going solo maybe, for gangs no the extra damps are a better choice. Depends of course what you plan on doing, an mwd might be good choice to get out of bubbles. ---------------------------------------- A Guide to Scan Probing in Revelations |

Solo wise yea it sux, about gang well if u can't use mega :P Also i love all those cruise raven, Cruise raven hits you for lolspank 10 damage. If you are going to pvp against anything bigger than cruisers, get torps so u will get some decent dps. ----------------- My english bad, F1, F2, F3, F4...

Problem with Ravens is you need torps to do decent damage to other battleships. Torps have a ridiculously low firing rate, so up against a ship with a high alpha, a raven can fall apart before its DOT really starts adding up. If you wanna pvp, drop the raven and get a scorp. Jam em and kill em nice and slow with cruise / drones. Plus, all the time they sit there dying you get some of the lovliest and funniest smack in local youll ever see before kaboom.

Raven is a good pvp ship, the ROF on torps isn't as bad as people make it out to be. It's called train missiles. :D
