So there is this guy in our constellation. NPC corp, some funky name. Always in the same system, day in and day out. If anyone.. even a 2 day year old alt enters the system he logs off.
Question #1 Has anyone ever ran into this?
Question #2 How do we kill his ass? ~~~~~~~~~ Caldari. It's so easy a Minmatar could do it. |

lol, just told a corpy about this because I read about it in an exploit thread. Not really willing to lose my acct over some macro, but hell... There SHOULD be a way to kill this guy. ~~~~~~~~~ Caldari. It's so easy a Minmatar could do it. |

try entering the sys inna recon and stay , the macro'er will eventually log back in. Have some1 bring a shuttle into the system named LUGAL MOP'N'GLO's Shuttle and park it near where it can be scanned near to the macro'er log off point after the macro'er logs so the macro'er can scan it and think your inna shuttle after the macro'er logs back in.
Might work.

one day around 12 ravens entered GW, all in npc corps , all moving in one gang very slowly which leads me to believe there all controlled by a handful of people.
ever since they have been constantly npcing in the same few systems , impossible to kill them as they just log, the odd time you get to gank there haulers but thats about it.

We have a fair few in and around delve atm, it's really annoying becasue they run off and cloak the moment you enter local, and they just farm, all day every day.

It's nearly impossible to get them and it's very fustrating. The macro appears to work off of the buddylist. Once you're on the buddylist, as soon as you enter local the macro logs off the character. If you're NOT on the buddylist, you can have up to 5 minutes before the human controller notices that you're there, adds you and logs off the character. So if you're new in the area it's possible, but still difficult.

Ya the cloakers and waiters are different. This is one person, most likely running an alt with an actual macro.
You know, something that automatically logs in, activates shields and booster, targets, fires, next belt, repeat. If the pixels of another person entering local change, log. 30 minutes the cycle starts again.
They never have to sell anything, pick anything up, worry about macro hunters like in highsec. They just constantly make isk. My guess is with a decent system you could pull in about 20-30m per hour which means with 23hrs in the EVE day and a desolate system you're looking at a minimum of 500m per day. ~~~~~~~~~ Caldari. The western, deserted part of Venal and Tribute has plenty. Shooting them without exploiting works fine, but u need a lil luck and u need to be fast.
1) Prober with _excellent_ skills 2) 2 or more battleships able to deal loads of EM dmg (Geddon ftw here)
Enter system, let your prober do his magic. It can take all from 0-20s before the macro guy logs. Usually, he stays on for more than 10 sec after you've dropped the probe. Considering scan time of less than 50s, this give you more than 10 secounds to kill him, wich is enough.

Macro-ratters are easy to kill, it just takes some time.
1. Aggro timers carry between sessions. (if you aggro him while his ship is in space when he logs in next there's a good chance he's already aggro'd)
2. Sometimes their macros log them off too quickly. Logging off too quickly can give you a 15 minute timer even when unagressed.
3. Figure out what belt they logged from and when they log back in jump into system and warp to that belt, good chance of forcing a premature log or landing before they warp off.
4. Add the scouts that they use to your address book.
5. Start negotiations with the scout. If you have a quick lock ship you can catch the pod he's in while he's typing back in local.
6. Some of them do something where you scan them down and warp to 0 with perfect accuracy but they are 3000km off and enter warp again 30 seconds later. this almost always gives them 15minute timers even when unagressed.
7. Shotgun your attackers with everyone warping to different belts, sometimes you get lucky.

Edited by: Blind Man on 13/01/2007 03:46:12 there are macro haulers (to get the loot im guessing) also, you see some odd killmails of noob corp haulers with tons of racial npc loot in them, sometimes kill the same guy a few times

Question #2 How do we kill his ass?
Posting what systems he does it in would be a good start.
As others have said though if you loot their wreck or shoot it or what not it'll give them an aggression timer then you can probe them down. I think the Dev's were investigating that and might call it an exploit though.
How many asteroid fields are there though? You could just do a login trap to cause an agression timer normally then probe him down and kill him. If he's picking up loot non stop it could even be fairly lucrative to do so.

Yep, I ecountered a lot of this when I was getting my sec back up in Vale, skyhappy33, and loads of other variants of 'skyhappy' all in NPC corps, the ratting ones had 5.0 sec, all logged off as soon as anything entered local. As an aswer to question 2, samirols answer would prob be our best bet.

I suggest you go and check the moons btw, normally I wouldn't tell this to a "hostile" party but I have a pretty good reason to believe they have a POS(!) somewhere there...

Don't you have to be in a player corp to set up a pos?
And is it a exploit if I shoot a macros wreck before he logs off and then scan his location?

Simply camp the system for a few days you say he's always in that system put someone on every gate and spend a few days waiting, if he logs in and stays in a hunting you go if he tries to jump out you've got him anyway.
