So I've been playing with the scanner and have a question thats been bothering me.
When I open the scanner, I don't see the radial menu of the system like in all the screen shots from the guides I've viewed. Also, there are three tabs instead of the two. Was that display removed or is there something I need to do to bring it up?
I really want to learn the uses of the scanner, and I've been having a hard time confirming whats post-revelations and what isn't.
Thanks in advance for any and all replies!

The top view of the system was removed with the introduction of the new 3D System Map (F10 or the "-" zoom button to the left of the shield display). You can still get (but in a much less flexible way) by pressing F11.
Probes and scanner where moved to 2 different tab instead of sharing the same so that's why there are now 3 tabs.
The scanner it self has not changed much since before rev (only them map removal and the removal of some of the objects that used to show up on it). But the probe system as changed a lot. You can read more about those change in the link in my signature. ---------------------------------------- A Guide to Scan Probing in Revelations |

Thanks for the tips and the quick reply.
I couldn't seem to get the 3D system map with F10, but the - function you mentioned worked perfectly.
The only thing is the removal of that cone, which was one of the main reasons I was so interested in a radial interface. Is there some way to bring THAT up? In scanning the system in halves and quarters, it would be really useful to help you remember what way to point. It's not that big a deal, but it would be nice.

I know what you mean about the radial aspect of scanning and i really missed it when they introduced the new map, but after using it for a while i have to agree the new map is fantastic for cov ops pilots.

I have had similar problems, Hoshi has written a very good comprehensive guide, but have a look at my recent thread, 'Ye Olde Scnner' Dillon has put alot of work into a simple short guide.
