I live in 0.0. And I find these three times a week "I got the fix for low sec" threads, to be long winded and completly ignored by CCP.
The more replies the better. Thank you. Roshan and all the others taht point out 0.0 is better than low sec, you speak the truth. BUT low sec can offer the small to medium corp things that 0.0 can not, such as a chance to evolve on its own, get enough pvp to get good at, learn on its own to organize and see whats better for the corp, without a big brother telling you what to do.
Another thing low sec offers that 0.0 can not is evolve under the radar, at least to the point when you are ready for some heavy pvp and 0.0
As I said before at least my part of low sec is safer than 0.0. The pirates are less experienced than the ones I've met in 0.0. Farmers are good target practice.
I also like the fact that that not many do industry in low sec, but many lose ships, so our industry wing is having a good time: unexplored belts, huge roids, things flying off market fast.
Oh, and this is not a post about "I have the fix for low sec" this is a post about "low sec as it is, is good enough for me - let me show you why - come down here"
Thank you. Rina Shanu

Originally by: Humpalot The answer is simple really. Low Sec (when I say low sec for the purposes of this thread I mean 0.1-0.4 sec space and will indicate 0.0 separately) is in no way worth the effort to live there unless you are a pirate.
Its only not worth living there as a solo miner.
For a solo combat player it is worth living there.
For a corp it is worth living there.

Edited by: Soporo on 16/01/2007 22:01:00 1 Have you ever been in low sec ? Yes.
2 How long did you live there / are you still there ? Occasionally.
3 What are you afraid of in low sec? When I go, I am afraid of nothing because I am either in a shuttle or a throw away ship with a no plant JC.
4 What do you dislike about low sec? Risk not worth the rewards generally. just go there to jack around mostly.
5 Would you give low sec a try ? I have, I prefer 0.0 or Empire, unless I am feeling rowdy or have a hairbrained scheme I want to try.
Good luck trying to get more people into LowSec, the bottom line is: the people that are there want to be there and the people that dont, arent for msotly risk/reward resons I would hazard. Simplistic but true.

Quote: 1 Have you ever been in low sec ?
Yes.
Quote: 2 How long did you live there / are you still there?
I lived in Aridia for about 4-6 months, and spent a month or two in low-sec caldari space.
Quote: 3 What are you afraid of in low sec?
Very little, but that is due to experience. I guess now my biggest fear would be a carrier or mothership ganker tanking gate guns.
Quote: 4 What do you dislike about low sec?
Very difficult to catch pirates -- they usually just run at the first sign of any trouble, so it takes one heck of a well coordinated operation to actually nab a good gate ganker.
Quote: 5 Would you give low sec a try?
Have, will, and am.

No

Nothing realy scares me in a computer game, thats other peoples perception (or indeed hope) id imagine... judging by a lot of posts on the subject over about the last 18 months. (generaly you get told what type of person you are anyway... because of the way you choose to play)
Cheif dislike...low sec, lame unbalanced game mechanics... station camp *yawn* gate camp *yawn*
No... not until they change the game from it's current state, see above.

1. Yes. 2. For over a month, I'm still there when travelling. 3. Nothing, it's usually quiet, the people are friendly, though i wouldn't fly a freighter, industrial or Hulk down there. 4. Moons with a POS of my wartargets on it/ Running into a pirate camp. 5. I already use it.

I moved all my stuff to lowsec this week, living here full time, as opposed to having all my stuff in highsec and living in lowsec part-time.
Was gonna live in 0.0 but they don't sell station containers at outposts so I cant organize my stuff.
Its not as dangerous as people say.
In my opinion the barrier is that people do not realize that ships are meant to be disposable.
If you have 100 mil, you're not supposed to run out and buy a BS, you're supposed to run out and buy 10 cruisers and use them over the course of a couple weeks.
Its like a disposable razor.
But people are stuck on this WoW/Everquest mindset that you're supposed to quest for Uber flaming Spaceship of the Whale and keep it for the rest of your Eve life.
Then one day they fly through a .4 system without looking at the freaking map, get ganked, petition for reimbursement and whine on the forums "waaaah I quit."
That's the player experience of the average highsec carebear.

1. Yes. 2. Never lived there, just pass through or do things there briefly. 3. Nothing. 4. The fact that it's useless, 0.0 is better for everything. 5. Having lived in 0.0 extensively? No.

1 Have you ever been in low sec ? Yes. 2 How long did you live there / are you still there ? Never lived there, travel through now and then. 3 What are you afraid of in low sec? Risk != Reward. 4 What do you dislike about low sec? PvP 5 Would you give low sec a try ? When I've been ingame as long as the people attacking me I'll spend longer down there. But I'll most likely go straight to 0.0
I've been playing for at most three weeks, I go there if I need to pick stuff up. Losing at the moment irreplaceable equipment is not part of the fun in game for me. I have about 100m ISK across all my characters (2 accounts), I'm still skilling up my miner and my fighter, neither of which would currently be safe missioning/mining/hunting etc in low sec.
Eventually when I have some better skills and know the game better I'll have a try at PvP and most likely learn the ropes in low sec, but 0.0 seems to be better balanced toward people who want to make a difference, low sec just seems to be a general PvP battle ground.

2 How long did you live there / are you still there ? Never lived there really, mostly just passing through on my way to 0.0
3 What are you afraid of in low sec? Not much really ... if you aren't afk you can pretty much avoid any fight you don't want...
4 What do you dislike about low sec? Sec Status thingies ... and lots less reward than 0.0, where i live atm.
5 Would you give low sec a try ? Not really, i like my 0.0 home :-)
EDIT: Wow ... i got a face ... at last ;o))
