So after a 2 year hiatus, I'm back playing both EVE & Dust. Since Dust was kind of still in Beta, I never got to see it effect EVE.
I'm specifically interested in how Dust players can be persuaded to fight on planets in Factional War systems. Is that basically just something you do out of game, or is there any in game mechanic to put a bounty out for attacking a system?

It's rather difficult at this point. The only real and meaningful link from EVE to Dust 514 is the concept of the Orbital Strike which only exists within Faction Warfare and the Region of Molden Heath where Planetary Conquest takes place.
You require a specific type of orbital strike ammunition, a knowledge of where the Dust 514 battle is located either in FW space or Molden Heath, and you need to be able to warp to the planet, district, and connect to that district for at least 3 minutes to deploy a strike. |

Perhaps attempt to make contact with a squad first before you fly out there since they can first of all tell you which planets and systems you need to fly to as well as having them be aware you are in orbit.
Also if you do find a squad only fire when their squad leader requests it not when one of the other team mates does because it likely to see your Killboard fill up with friendlies more than enemies. Secondly don't hesitate too long sometimes enemies move out of the OB areas if you take too long and friendlies move into them......

There are also effects on the Efficiency of Planetary Interaction (PI).
I just linked this recently in the EVE Online forums.
Perhaps I should add it to the DUST 514 forums, as I also got an account or 2 on there now.
Orbital Strike may require an item from the planet DUST players to link the target. |

It only requires a specific type of Ammunition of Crystal and can only be fired from Small Turrets.
E.G- You need a turret heavy destroyer and the correct ammunition. (Orbital Laser S for Lasers for example).
Contact a Dust 514 player or squad and ask them where one of their Faction Warfare or Planetary Conquest battles are located and warp to that district.
Click on the landscape below and you should connect to that district. After 3 minutes Dust 514 will alter its players that an player initiated strike is available. Once a Duster orders the strike location a picture of a Duster merc will appear as though you had locked them.
Simply fire your guns as normal and watch Duster Kill Mails roll in. |
